The aid scholarships for higher education are designed to encourage the youth of the municipality to carry out university studies and Higher Level Vocational Training, facilitate access to students with economic difficulties and reward good academic performance and excellence in these studies.
With this triple objective, the Pedreguer City Council has called for the seventh grants for the beginning of higher studies, which have a global budget of 15.000 euros and which will complement the scholarships from other institutions such as the Generalitat or the Ministry of Education. , more specifically aimed at students with a lower income level.
According to the bases of the call (which can be consulted on the municipal website), two types of aid are expected to be granted depending on the studies completed in each case. Thus, students entering undergraduate or equivalent university studies for the first time may receive 750 euros, while for students enrolling in Vocational Training studies for the first time (Higher Degree) the amount of aid will be 450 euros.
When granting the aid, on the one hand, the access grades to the aforementioned studies will be taken into account, and on the other, the level of income and social criteria, such as the existence of disability, family status numerous or single parent or the fact of having other brothers or sisters who are also studying higher education. Applications can be submitted by registration at City Hall until November 28. In addition, the possibility of presenting the documentation and the application electronically through the Pedreguer City Council website continues to be established.
For the scaling of the aid, the distance of the municipality from the study center is considered so that those students who study further away receive a higher score. In addition, priority is also given to the final grade for Baccalaureate over the FP (Higher Grade).
Another criterion to highlight is that the fact of having a brother or sister studying face-to-face at university or FP (Higher Degree) more than 30 km from Pedreguer is valued.
