Ximo Coll presented today at the Verger Town Hall his resignation as mayor of the municipality in compliance with the decision taken by the Verger Socialist Association last week in an extraordinary assembly.
Given the situation of instability experienced by the Municipal Socialist Group of the City Council, which had worsened in recent months, the Socialist Group held two extraordinary assemblies last February to redirect the situation and facilitate the governability of the town. As a conclusion of these, on February 28, the group marked a very clear roadmap to redirect the situation and immediately start working for the benefit of the residents of El Verger.
According to the socialist communiqué, said road map included a change in the government team that consisted of the resignation of Mayor Ximo Coll to give the second deputy mayor, Juan Chover, the mayor's office. Despite the fact that the assembly decided to maintain the dedications and delegations that each councilor had, only a change from mayor to 2nd mayoralty, Coll's decision has been to renounce the act of councilor "so as not to interfere in future governance of the City Council and give it the greatest political stability for the rest of the legislature," the statement cites.
Juan Chover is in charge of the municipality until the next municipal elections that will be held in just over a year, in May 2023.
