The Diputación de Alicante will grant this year subsidies worth 214.000 euros to the municipality of Xaló through the Plan + Cerca 2022. This has been confirmed by the deputy for Infrastructure, Javier Gutiérrez, who has indicated that "this figure is more than double what that would arrive with the Cooperation Fund of the Generalitat Valenciana, which limits investments to only 105.000 euros in this municipality of 3.000 inhabitants and just over two million in the entire Marina Alta, compared to the 7 million that the provincial institution has allocated to the Shire".
According to the deputy, “this is one more case where the unfair policy of the Consell is demonstrated, which will punish the most vulnerable populations from next year”. In total, Xaló will receive between 2020 and 2023 more than 885.500 euros for the development of infrastructures. Gutiérrez has visited the municipality this morning, where he has traveled, together with its mayor, Joan Miquel Garcés, and the also provincial deputy Gerard Fullana, to the works of the future House of Culture of Molí Giner.
The restoration and rehabilitation of the building has had a budget of 750.000 euros, subsidized mainly by the Provincial Council, which has contributed more than 637.000 euros, 85%. The City Council, for its part, has contributed 112.500 euros.
The intervention will rehabilitate the emblematic Molí Giner in Xaló, where elements from the XNUMXth, XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries are preserved. The deputy for Infrastructures explained that "with this important restoration of heritage, a multicultural space will be created that will serve the public with a work that recovers the traditional while respecting the old".
The intervention aims to recover original volumes and value the structure with the combination of traditional techniques, such as masonry, masonry and stonework, and modern, reinforced concrete and steel structures, respecting the unique elements of the building.
The works will enable nearly 800 square meters of spaces for public use to be distributed over three levels. The first will be used for scenic activities in the open air, warehouse and technical premises. On the second level, a library and an outdoor stage will be installed. The third level will be dedicated to a multipurpose space and an assembly hall.
Investment
Through the main Infrastructure plans of the Alicante Provincial Council, Xaló will receive nearly 900.000 until 2023. The mayor of Xaló thanked the Provincial Council for its investment effort in the municipality and has announced that this year the most extensive action will begin for the reconversion from the Plaza Mayor.
The Plan Plana provides the largest amount of aid worth more than 475.000 euros that will be invested in the remodeling and adaptation of the Plaza Mayor and adjacent streets. The work and the project, with a budget of 560.000 euros, will also have a contribution from the City Council of about 84.000 euros. In the Marina Alta region, Planifica contemplates aid worth 15 million euros that will be distributed among all its populations.
Also with + Cerca 2020 and 2021, the adaptation of Calle Mayor and adjacent streets is financed, an action with a budget of 202.868 euros and a provincial subsidy of 180.725 euros. With these plans, the restoration, enhancement and adaptation of the Roman oven will also be undertaken, a work estimated at 202.868 euros that will have aid of 15.868 from the Provincial Council.
The provincial subsidies in Xaló will be increased this year with another 214.000 euros more through + Cerca 2022.
