This Saturday, April 30, the traditional Fiestas de la Rosa 2022 of Poble Nou de Benitatxell start. They will be lived with great intensity, especially by the festeros and festeros of 2020, who have been waiting for their moment for two years. The Commission and the festeros, with the collaboration of the Department of Fiestas, have developed an intense program of events, which will last until May 8.
The party will begin on Saturday with the collection of the festeras at 18:30 p.m., to later go to the Oratory and start the colorful floral offering to the Virgen de la Rosa. Children and adults will go to the Church to offer it with their bouquets and flower arrangements accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà. During the offering, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí will also offer their traditional dances. At night, there will be an orchestra on La Pau street.
Well-awaited is the day of La Rosa and its tradition of "pans beneïts", one of the most unique in the municipality. The preparations are being finalized with the transfer to the Oratory of the 120 loaves that will be decorated with roses and will be carried in baskets to the Church on Sunday, May 1, where they will be blessed. Later, accompanied by the Music Band and the Colla La Llebetjà, a procession made up of festivities, boys and girls from the town will walk the streets with baskets of blessed bread to distribute the pieces of bread to the neighbors throughout all the houses of the town. , who wait in the doorways with an empty plate.
That same day in the afternoon, at 20.00:XNUMX p.m., there will be a solemn procession in honor of the Virgen de la Rosa, San Pancracio Mártir and San Luis. At the end, a bouquet of fireworks will be set off at Portalet, and at night a show with Gardel's tangos will be offered on La Pau street.
On Monday 2 there will be religious acts and children's activities in the morning. After the mass in honor of San Pancracio Mártir, the mayor of San Pancracio will be appointed on the balcony of the City Hall, from where he will dictate the costume rules that all neighbors must comply with next Saturday on the festive day of costumes. At 14:00 p.m. there will be a giant paella for all attendees, and at 16:00 p.m. the Cau championship at the Social Center with prizes of 60, 40 and 20 euros. In the afternoon, at 18:00 p.m., the Glitter duo will perform on Carrer la Pau.
From May 3 to 8 there will be heifer release every afternoon (except Saturday), and dinner at popular prices by the Peña Taurina on Friday 6. The festivities will continue on Saturday 7 May with one of the funniest days of the year: San Pancracio and its popular costumes.
The day will start with awakening, an informal parade and cucañas for the little ones. At lunchtime the paella contest will be held, with prizes of 100, 75 and 50 euros for the three best. The costume parade will start at 17:00 p.m. from the festive center and will be accompanied by the music of the Xarangata brass band. Starting at 18:00 p.m. there will be a Montecarlo mobile disco on Calle La Pau, and at 19:30 p.m., the festeros and festeros will distribute sandwiches to all those who comply with the regulations dictated by the mayor of San Pancracio.
