A UNED study shows that children in the Marina Alta prefer to play with toys classified for their gender

The Coeducational Project of the UNED Chair of Equality Dénia has shown that gender inequality is present among the youngest children, who assume stereotypes from an early age. Among them, the fact that boys and girls preferred toys previously classified for their gender.

The results were presented at a press conference held this Tuesday, attended by the Vice-Rector for Academic Organization of the UNED, Juan Manuel Lacruz; the director of UNED Dénia, Raquel Martí; the UNED Dénia Training coordinator, Lorena Pérez, and the secretary of UNED Dénia, José S. Monserrat.

Raquel Martí explained that, based on a study carried out in the educational centers of El Verger, Ondara, Pedreguer, Xàbia and Beniarbeig, it has been discovered that girls prefer to play with dolls and boys with cars, toys traditionally associated with each gender.

Furthermore, Martí has stressed that gender segregation is beginning to take shape in Early Childhood Education, since children begin to choose their peers for games. "We must end stereotypes to move towards a free school," said the director.

Another conclusion is the fact that participants associated housework with mothers, while they associated fathers with repair or DIY tasks.

"There is no better challenge than that of achieving equality and this team has focused on the roots of the problem," declared Juan Manuel Lacruz. Given this situation, the Coe and Duca initiative has been created to put an end to stereotypes among students.

Coe and Duca, ending inequality in a didactic way

Lorena Pérez explained that two stories and a mobile application have been created to teach children to change their mentality about equality problems between men and women.

One of the titles, Coe and Duca look for a gift, aims to make children see that both genders can play with all types of toys and put an end to gender roles. The other story, Coe and Duca investigate care, wants to teach children to identify sexist attitudes related to the issue and promote co-responsibility of tasks in families.

Raquel Martí has reported that, after testing the reading of these stories by the children who had participated in the study, there was a change in them and greater equality was observed in the new results. For example, in the general use of toys regardless of gender segregation.

Pérez has also explained that these readings will also be available through the mobile application and the official website, which include interactive games. On the other hand, there are workshops scheduled in educational centers to address the issue.

UNED Equality Observatory of Dénia

The secretary of the Dianense institution, José S. Monserrat, explained that the UNED Equality Observatory of Dénia was created in 2013, although some projects of the academic institution in this matter had already been carried out between 2010 and 2012.

Monserrat explained that the objectives are to promote equality between men and women through the dissemination of information, training and research. "We are still very far from achieving equality and it is not only a right, but one of the essential foundations to build a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world," explained Monserrat.

The work of the Observatory, which is based on the Chair of Equality and Agenda 2030 of UNED Dénia, says the secretary, is "to know where we come from to know where we are going in terms of equality."

Reading is much easier, most boys like to play with a ball, cars, sticks, trucks... and girls like to play with dolls, dressing them, combing their hair...

And we are spending so much money on gender politics to brainwash boys and girls...

Yes, all freedom is being taken away from the little ones and they are leading them to gender equality workshops. I wouldn't like for a moment to be in their shoes, that of those responsible. What a mission to confuse those little ones.

Leave them FREE. Don't tell them anything and you'll see what happens. Simply WATCH. Surely there is a girl who likes it
play with cars and a child may play with dolls, but the percentages reflect a natural reality. Man and woman. Complementary. Perfect.

Luckily, the Nazis of the 21st century are nothing more than stupid bastards who, yes, live off public money, that is, off the backs of others. The nonsense of equality will sooner or later disappear. It does not exist, nor has it existed nor will it exist, and it is also undesirable. A simple belief typical of infantilized societies that believe in the magic of the collective. The common good, now called equality, and the collective have been, and will be, the perfect excuses for the greatest atrocities that human beings have committed. If paradise awaits us, any sacrifice is necessary.

If these people had children they would not need to spend money on one more study. Those who seek equality of the sexes are deniers. Equality is not equal to respect, on the contrary, claiming equality between the sexes is a lack of respect for what defines a woman and what defines a man. Instead of denying our differences, we should celebrate them because we are richer and more diverse. They have it all wrong.
