Valencian tourism: 16% of GDP and 20.000 million

The commitment to local information, which is of most interest to citizens, and to innovation in communication, is combined with a common interest in promoting the Valencian tourism sector, which represents 16% of the regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP). With more than 300.000 direct and indirect jobs, according to figures from the Generalitat and the INE, it is one of the greatest exponents of the Valencian economy, generating 20.000 billion euros and 4.000 billion in taxes.

AMDComVal's 33 digital media outlets will provide coverage of the dozens of activities and events organised by the seven public tourism brands of the Valencian Community: Castellón, València Turisme, Costa Blanca, València, Alicante, Elche and Benidorm. The Valencian space at Fitur will feature the participation of 317 public and private exhibitors.

The large presence of AMDComVal members reflects the consolidation of the group, as the largest network of digital media in the Valencian Community. The association has already grown to 62 member companies, which cover information at all levels and in a transversal way: with communication at the regional, provincial, supra-regional and local levels.

The professional coverage of the Fitur proposals takes place at a time of serious image crisis in the Valencian Community following the floods of 29 October and, at a sectoral level, in the midst of a political confrontation due to the protests of several PSPV mayors who consider that they have been removed from the front line at Fitur by the PP regional government.

How much will Xàbia City Council invest in FITUR this year? Have figures been given? Will the city council go to a four- or five-star hotel as on other occasions? Is there any information or transparency about this trip? About the people who are going?
