The freely communicating or receiving truthful information by any means of dissemination is a right that is included in article 20 of the Spanish Constitution. And hence the importance of the media in today's world where fake news, lies and hoaxes run freely.
In a society as polarized as the current one, citizens need information, verified facts and objective analysis to form an opinion or reinforce their own. A task that falls into an essential activity such as journalism.
In addition, journalism is one of the sectors that has been hardest hit by the COVID-19 crisis. Many media have applied ERTES, they have cut staff, reduced salaries. But this has not prevented all of us from continuing to be informed thanks to the efforts of some professionals and in an exceptional way.
We are in luck and we are pleased that our region welcomes the birth of a new digital means of communication such as LAMARINAALTA.COM, and thus expand the plurality of information on the Marina Alta in these difficult times and therefore I thank the daring but above all the illusion of starting this project.
