The Equality Department of the Teulada City Council, headed by Councilor Rosana Caselles, has organized, together with different local associations, a varied program in commemoration of March 8, International Women's Day.

«Every day is crucial to continue advancing gender equality and making women's rights visible, especially in the commemoration of Women's Day. Therefore, we are delighted to present this varied agenda of events that celebrate the fundamental role of women in our society," said Rosana Caselles, Councilor for Equality.

Wednesday February 28

  • 19:30 hours. Reading the book 'History of a teacher', by Josefina Aldecoa. At the Moraira Reading Agency.

Thursday February 29

Institutional reception of the technical staff and the municipal government team. Next, a workshop/talk will be given for the Baccalaureate students at the IES Teulada, with the aim of raising awareness of the reality of women in the region of Chiquitanía (Bolivia) and the result of the International Cooperation Project developed by the Fons. Valencia Per la Solidaritat, in which the Teulada City Council collaborates.

From March 1 to 28

Exhibition of books with feminist themes at the Municipal Library of Teulada and the Moraira Reading Agency.

Friday March 1

  • 19: 30 h. 'Women in the local economy', organized by the Xarxa de Dones de Teulada
    Moraira with the collaboration of the Department of Equality, in the Teulada assembly hall.

Sunday March 3

  • 09:30 hours. Solidarity march, organized by the Teulada Housewives Association and
    subsidized by the Teulada City Council through the Department of Equality. Registration until March 1 at www.somesport.com, Teulada Day Center, Entrefils Store and Óptica Moraira. Donations of €5. The proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Family Association (AFA) of Teulada.

Friday, March 8 – International Women's Day

  • 12:00 hours Reading of the institutional manifesto by Rosana Caselles, Councilor for Equality of Teulada Moraira. The IES Teulada will also read her manifesto and will accompany the event with a small performance.
  • 17:00 hours. Conference: 'The working woman in the painting of Joaquín Sorolla',
    organized by the Association of Housewives and Consumers of Moraira and subsidized by the Teulada City Council through the Department of Equality. In Rooms 1 and 2 of Espai La Senieta in Moraira.

Saturday March 9

  • Of 09: 30 13 to: 30 hours. Women's padel tournament on the city's padel courts
    Deportiva Ricardo Benavent de Teulada, organized by the Teulada Moraira Paddle Club in collaboration with the Teulada City Council. The modality will be American Tournament, aimed at women of all ages. Free registrations (individual) by WhatsApp: +34 679 80 19 16. Maximum 20 participants.
  • 19:30 hours. Faüla, a contemporary dance and acrobatics show that tells the story of the transformation of two women. A circus performance outside the central square of the Teulada Moraira Auditorium.

Sunday March 10

  • 12:00 hours. Closing concert of the string orchestra meeting at the Auditori
    Teulada Moraira. The conservatories of Altea participate, Dénia, Jávea and Teulada. Guest director: Marita Primo Rocher. The repertoire will include the interpretation of the work 'Elegía', by Iluminada Pérez.

Saturday March 16

  • 19:30 hours. 'Goodbye my owner' at the Auditori Teulada Moraira. A 'sarao', like in the Golden Age. Comedy. Tangle. Sex. Music. Verse. Dance. Five friends looking for love. No commitments. Without owners. No strings attached. With the same freedom as any man. Why not?

Saturday March 22

  • 18:30 p.m.: Talk 'We talk openly about menopause', by Silvia Crespo Puig, in the assembly hall. Organized by the Teulada Housewives Association.

Saturday May 18

  • 19:30 hours. Play 'Those who clean', at the Auditori Teulada Moraira. Written, directed and performed by Areta Bolado, Noelia Castro and Ailén Kendelman. A work that talks about “the organized struggle of hotel maids to achieve fair labor and social rights. In front of them, the voracious greed of the owners of the hotel chains.” Free entrance. Intended for audiences over 12 years old. Limited capacity.
