El Municipality of Teulada, through the Department of General Services, headed by Mari Cantó, will carry out the fifth phase of solar streetlight installation in the municipality. This project has a budget of €199.093,24, including VAT, financed by the council.
In this new phase, a total of 145 solar streetlights will be installed on various roads in the town, specifically on Camino del Pas, Calle Haya, Camino de la Viuda, Camino Viejo del Portet, Camino de la Miquela, Camino Campo de Tiro, Camino del Pouet del Moro, Camino de Diego Caldo, and Camino Rotgetes.
This initiative moves the municipality toward energy efficiency and sustainability, reducing its environmental impact and conventional energy consumption. By not depending on the electricity grid, solar streetlights contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions and represent an efficient and environmentally friendly alternative, according to the City Council.
"The installation of these solar streetlights represents another step in our goal of making Teulada Moraira a more sustainable municipality, investing in renewable energy and optimizing energy consumption," said Mari Cantó.
For his part, the mayor of Teulada Moraira, Raul Llobell, emphasized that "we continue to move forward with the implementation of this public lighting system, which improves the municipality's lighting without compromising the landscape, guarantees a balance between technology and respect for the environment, and contributes to the safety of the municipality's citizens." He also announced that "the installation of the sixth phase of the project will begin soon."
