Teulada Moraira is committed to sustainability with the recycling of police uniforms

February 11 from 2025 - 14: 01

El Municipality of Teulada has signed a collaboration agreement with the company Insigna to join the Re-Uniform programme, a pioneering initiative in the recycling of unused police uniforms. With this measure, the council reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the circular economy in the textile sector.

Thanks to this agreement, specific containers have been installed at the Teulada Local Police headquarters for the collection of used uniforms. The company Insigna will be responsible for collecting, classifying and recycling the garments, preventing their disposal through polluting methods and ensuring their reuse in a responsible manner.

The Re-Uniform programme uses advanced technology to separate textile materials without losing their properties, thus allowing them to be reintroduced into the production cycle. This not only helps to reduce the environmental impact, but also promotes the reuse of resources in the manufacture of new sustainable textile products.

The mayor of Teulada Moraira, Raul Llobell, has highlighted the importance of this initiative: "Joining the Re-Uniform programme is another step in our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. With this agreement, we not only guarantee proper management of textile waste, but we also encourage the reuse of materials."

This action is part of the municipal circular economy strategy and reinforces Teulada Moraira's commitment to the development of responsible practices in waste management. With initiatives such as this, the City Council continues to advance in its objective of consolidating itself as a benchmark municipality in sustainability and environmental efficiency.
