El Municipality of Teulada has approved the improvement project for the Almàssera Ecomuseogràfic Centre, an emblematic space that preserves the old oil mill and wine press facilities of the historic Teulada Agricultural Cooperative.
The project will be carried out in two phases. First, the roof of the old Almàssera will be repaired, covering an area of 147,74 square meters. Second, a new 127,94-square-meter garden area will be created at the center's side entrance. This project aims to facilitate outdoor circulation between the side entrance and the main entrance of the facility, as well as beautify the surroundings.
As part of the project, an olive tree will be planted in this new green space, in homage to the municipality's olive-growing tradition and the building's original use.
The total cost of the works amounts to €82.623,77, including VAT, and will be fully financed with municipal funds. The estimated completion time is four months. The council has currently initiated the procurement process to put the works out to tender.
The Councilor for Culture of Teulada Moraira, Veronica Martinez, has expressed his satisfaction with the launch of the project: "We consider it a necessary and fundamental project to improve and enhance the value of the Centre Ecomuseogràfic l'Almàssera."
For his part, the mayor of Teulada Moraira, Raul Llobell, has underscored the government team's commitment to local heritage: "We continue working on the adaptation and renovation of municipal assets and spaces in our town, as places like l'Almàssera highlight our history and our roots."
