The Alicante Provincial Council has initiated the resolution of the Plan + Cerca with the approval of the first aid requested by the town councils, in this case for the line aimed at current spending. The Commission for Infrastructures and Assistance to Municipalities this week gave the go-ahead to these subsidies, which must be ratified next week by the plenary session and which amount to about four million euros.
A total of 42 municipalities will benefit from the first aid package of the program, endowed as a whole with 29,8 million euros, as explained by the Deputy for Infrastructure and Assistance to Municipalities, Javier Gutiérrez, who recalled that “they are the municipalities themselves what, with absolute autonomy and freedom, they choose the destination of the aid promoted by the provincial institution, that is, if they use it to finance current expenditure or investment ”.
The municipalities of the Marina Alta that will receive this aid are Beniarbeig, Castell de Castells, Pedreguer, Senija, Tormos and La Vall d'Alcalà with 208.835 euros.
The subsidies will be used in this case, as stated in the resolution, to the operation and maintenance of parks and gardens, schools, sports facilities, cultural buildings, libraries, medical offices and other municipal buildings. With these aid, the councils will be able to meet the costs of personnel, conservation, cleaning or electricity supply, water, gas and fuel, has detailed the deputy, who has insisted that the Plan + Cerca "gives, from flexibility and local autonomy, an absolute role for the municipalities ”.
