14 June 2023 - 18: 30

The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has provisionally approved the Informative Study: «Conditioning of the N-332 Highway. Section: Benissa – Gata de Gorgos – Pedreguer»; in the province of Alicante. The announcement of provisional approval is published today in the Official State Gazette (BOE) and the documentation can be consulted at the following link: EI Conditioning N-332.

The study concludes that the 3D alternative is the most favorable according to the multicriteria analysis carried out, in which functional, environmental, economic, territorial and road safety factors have been assessed. It is estimated that the base budget for the bidding for the works of this alternative will amount to 30 million euros (VAT included).

Description of the scope of study and action

The N-332 highway is part of the infrastructure of the Mediterranean Highway Corridor, constituting one of the main connection routes between the municipalities of the Levantine coast. Between Ondara and Gata de Gorgos there is an average daily intensity close to 20.000 vehicles per day, with traffic peaks in the summer period as it is the main route to the municipality of Xàbia.

The elimination of the toll on the AP-7 motorway on December 31, 2019 has made it possible to promote the use of the AP-7 motorway as a high-capacity corridor in the Marina Alta region.

With the aim of halving traffic on the N-332 highway, improving road safety and reducing journey times, Mitma has coordinated with the municipalities of Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos, and with the industrial developments of Oquins and Plans , the implementation of a new connection of the AP-7 motorway with the N-332 road.

The new connection includes a new link with the AP-7 motorway, the conditioning of a section of the CV-732 road of the Diputación de Alicante and the remodeling of the existing link between the N-332 and CV-734 road of the Generalitat Valenciana .

This new connection with the AP-7 highway will also reduce traffic on the Ondara and Dénia and the Benissa link, improving accessibility to the municipalities of Ondara, Dénia, Pedreguer, Gata de Gorgos, Xábia, Benissa and Teulada, among others.

This improvement in the infrastructures, together with the commissioning of the Benissa Bypass in July 2022 and the next tender for the works of the complementary project of the Benissa Bypass, which involves the conditioning of the N-332 road between Benissa and Teulada represents a great leap in mobility and road safety in the Marina Alta region, with greater connectivity with the AP-7 motorway.
