The RED formation of Poble Nou de Benitatxell has issued a statement in which it requires the mayor of the municipality, Miguel Ángel García, a 20% drop in the Real Estate Tax (IBI). In this way, they ask that it be included in the preparation of the municipal budgets for the next financial year 2023.
According to RED, when the current government was in opposition, "it proposed and presented the reduction, collecting signatures from more than 500 neighbors." The formation resorts to "times as difficult as the ones we are experiencing" to request the reduction, since "there are no better bonuses or better subsidies than a reduction in direct taxes whose competence resides in the government team that has an absolute majority ».
RED recalls that the government's first proposal after the motion of censure granted by the mayor's office was to announce the reduction of the IBI, but that it never took place, what's more, it was raised. The group also recalls "the breach of its promises as in the matter of the closure of its street, or the deadlines in the execution of the works of the avenida de alicante, new town hall, paddle tennis courts, or the sale of smoke that it does when It tells us that they are a social government and they charge the escoleta at Christmas and Easter for the children».
