What obligations and responsibilities do animal owners have in Ondara?

January 23 from 2023 - 12: 33

«A simple and instructive document to summarize to the citizens the obligations and responsibilities of the owners of the animals that are collected in the municipal ordinance of the Ondara City Council that regulates these rights and duties». With these words, the CEO of SINMA, Francesc Giner, and the mayor, José Ramiro, have summarized the objectives of this document, who have explained that the diptych is based on the enumeration of a series of corrective measures in the face of a recurring problem "that needs of citizen help and collaboration to eradicate uncivil behaviors within collective spaces as serious as not picking up dog droppings within the urban environment”. In fact, the diptych has two main sections: one dedicated to the obligations and responsibilities of neighbors who have a pet (from the obligation to carry hygienic bags to collect droppings when taking pets for a walk up to the regulations regarding dangerous breeds of dogs) and another focused on recommendations and good practices (from private cleaning of pet urine with bottles to veterinary care for the animals with which one lives); In addition, a section of tips and other illustrative elements are included, such as, for example, a map where the recreational spaces for dogs and the cat colonies recorded in the municipality are located.

As for the launch of the diptych, it was made known this weekend through interventions as symbolic as the distribution of the brochure during the Sant Antoni festivity in the surroundings of Prado: a meeting where the mascots of the municipality gathered so much like their owners. The idea of taking advantage of a framework of these characteristics was based on the interest of making families aware of the implicit responsibility of animal ownership. During the day on Sunday, more than five hundred diptychs were distributed among the attendees as part of an initial campaign that will be actively developed over the coming months.

It must be remembered that its publication and dissemination is included within the first phase of the comprehensive information and civility campaign that will take place during 2023 and that was now presented a month ago, in mid-December. And it is that under the motto "Si t'estimes Ondara" that heads the project and through a whole program of interventions, SINMA, the municipal public company together with the Ondara City Council and the Local Police have projected a global action plan to optimize neatness and order within the municipality as a whole. «A necessary campaign», as summarized by the CEO of SINMA and Town Planning Councilor, Francesc Giner, «which needs the help and collaboration of citizens to be carried out, especially in such important aspects as respect and order within the collective spaces: essential values to achieve a cleaner and more sustainable Ondara».
