Last Wednesday, an extraordinary regional executive was held in which, among other topics, one of the needs most demanded by the population was addressed: the reversal of the Department of Health of Dénia to direct management. A fact that, as reported by the Ministry of Health, on January 31, the department's reversion rules were sent to the concessionaire Marina Salud so that on February 1, 2024 it will definitively pass under public management.
As a result of the debate, the socialists of the region demand a call from the Network of Mayors with the same Ministry and thus express the concerns generated by the reversion process, such as the hypothetical scenario that the concessionaire stops investing the money necessary for maintenance of the equipment, further reduce the provision of human resources or "abandonment" the provision of service the year that remains of the contract to the detriment of the health of the neighbors.
They also want to take advantage of the meeting to convey the concerns that have been affecting the aforementioned and critical situation in recent years, constantly denounced by the socialists. At least, the mayor of Pego, Enrique Moll, put on the table this year the problem of the lack of professionals and service in the towns of the valleys and the interior; or the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, who has already warned about the investments pending contractual execution such as the Dénia and Calp health centers, before the concessionaire ends.
The PSPV of the Marina Alta hopes that the clear and direct decision of the Botanical government, led by President Ximo Puig, to reverse the Department of Health will not be clouded by private or political interests a few months before the municipal and surely regional elections .
