Program of Patron Saint Festivities of Gata de Gorgos Santíssim Crist del Calvari 2024

Gata de Gorgos begins its patron saint festivities in honor of the Santíssim Crist del Calvari from July 27 to August 6. To do this, the 2024 Festival Commission has relied on the municipality's City Council to prepare a complete program of events with shows and varied activities to cover different tastes and audiences.

• 20: 00 hours: Novena to the Most Holy Christ of Calvary.

Saturday July 20 - Festival Day

• 22: 00 hours: Concentration in the Plaza Nueva of the Quint@s Children and Seniors 2024 to go to the School Group, accompanied by the “BANDA UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA”, the representatives of 2023, visiting partygoers, local authorities and residents of the town.
• 23: 00 hours: Presentation of the 2024 CHILDREN'S FIFTH “LA FLAMA” and proclamation of the representatives. With the details sponsored by Signes Grimalt and Artipalma and with the collaboration of the Celler de la Marina. Next, presentation of the Fifth 2024 “L'ANREDRÀ” and proclamation of the representatives. During the event we will have a performance by the Municipal Dance School. At the end, we will have the fabulous orchestra “LA LÍMITE”, until late into the night.

Friday, July 26 - Baixada Day

• 19: 30 hours: Concentration in the Calvary Hermitage of the Children's and Seniors' Quint@s 2023, and the general population for the novena and the Mass. The insignia of the Holy Christ will be placed on the children's and senior quint@s and the 2024 Festival Commission. Afterwards, the procession of the Descent of the Holy Christ of Calvary accompanied by the “Colla de DOLÇAINERS I TABALETERS EL MONTGÓ- BENIMUSSA” and the “ “BAND UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA.” Next, in the Church Square, the general ringing of the bells will take place, indicating that the Holy Christ is already in the Church. Fireworks shot and image bombarded with colors by BORREDÀ pyrotechnics.

Saturday, July 27 - Inauguration Day

• 00: 05 hours: First and second round of the “TRUC” championship, organized by the 2025 Festival Commission in Enric Valor Park (old soccer field).
• 09: 00 hours: First “awakening” by the Quinta 2024 “L'ANREDRÀ”.
• 10: 30 hours: Concentration of carts and horses in the Enric Valor Park (old soccer field).
• 11: 00 hours: Entrance of the “Murta”, with the participation of the children's and senior quint@s and all the neighbors who wish to do so. All together we will walk the streets of the town accompanied by the “COLLA DE DOLÇAINERS I TABALETERS MONTGÓ-BENIMUSSA.”
• 12: 30 hours: “Muixeranga de la Marina” in the Plaza de la Iglesia.
• 13: 00 hours: Ringing of bells and twenty-one salutes that remind us all that the HOLY CHRIST is in the church and GATA is at FESTIVALS. Next, come accompany the 2024 Commission and the quint@s in the PREGÓN by the elite athlete ROSA LARA FELIU, a resident of the town, together with the local authorities. Next, we will announce the awards for the best decorated streets. Meanwhile, the 2024 Commission will offer BEER A GOGO, sponsored by Francisco Tomás e Hijos.
• 18: 00 hours: Concentration on La Paz Street to participate in the inauguration of the circle (come with the appropriate clothing for the event).
• 18: 30 hours: Official opening of the ring with the participation of the children's and senior quint@s, the 2024 Festival Commission and all the neighbors who are willing to have a good time. Enlivened by the BATUKADA and CHARANGAS. Punctuality is requested.
• 19: 00 hours: Special entry of traditional elements sponsored by an Anonymous, along the usual route.
• 19: 45 hours: I Contest of cows and a bull from the ASENSI ranch.
• 22: 00 hours: Official inauguration of barracks, barracks and camps. Without taking off our afternoon clothes we will go up to the School Group where the 2024 Festival Commission will distribute REBUJITO A GOGO.
• 00: 00 hours: Large “VERTIGO REVOLUTION” orchestra on the esplanade of the School Group with bar service, run by the 2025 Commission. During the dance break, the awards for the best decorated booths will be announced. When the orchestra ends, we will have DJ ÁNGEL MARTOS until the body can bear it.

Sunday, July 28 - Barbie Party Day

• 07: 00 hours: Second “awakening” by the Quint@s 2024.
• 08: 00 hours: First entry of cows and a bull from the LA TEMPLANZA ranch. Next, heifers are released. Next, there will be a popular lunch in the bullring with COCAS AND BEER, by the 2024 Commission.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “PLANET 8” in the commission bar, sponsored by the 2024 Commission.
• 19: 00 hours: Second entry of cows and bulls from the LA PALOMA ranch. Next, II cow and bull contest from the LA PALOMA livestock farm.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks with FIESTA BARBIE, where the commission will distribute pink tequila. With the collaboration of Novaplack, for all those who go in costume.
• 00: 00 hours: Fabulous “MISSISSIPI” orchestra. During the orchestra break, LETICIA SABATER's great performance will take place. At the end, there will be a photocall so we can take photos with her.

Monday, July 29 - Costume Day

• 08: 00 hours: “Despertà” by Quint@s 2024.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the “GRUPO Ñ” in the Enric Valor park (old soccer field) sponsored by the 2024 Commission, in the bar of the 2025 Festival Commission.
• 18: 00 hours: Performance of the “MAGO KAXINOXEVE” in the Plaza Nueva. Next, there will be NITIDIA inflatables for all the children in the Enric Valor park.
• 19: 00 hours: Third and fourth elimination of “TRUC”.
• 19: 30 hours: Third entry of cows and a bull from the ELS COVES ranch. Next, III cow and bull contest from the MÍNGUEZ ranch.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 23: 30 hours: Costume dance with a prize for the best costumes, the dance will be entertained by the “EMOJI” Orchestra on the School Group esplanade.
• 00: 00 hours: Gathering of groups, couples and the general public who want to participate in the costume night, in Plaza Nueva, where a parade will begin to the School Group, accompanied by music and fun from the BATUKADA de Gata.

Tuesday, July 30 - Paella Day

• 10: 30 hours: “Pilot” games from the GATA Pilot School (flights, children and cadet/youth) on Luna Street. Organizes the Gata Pilota Club. Ali, José Luis and Jaume VS Adrià, Francisco and Guillem.
• 11: 15 hours: Unai, Aimar and Ismael VS Josep Salort, Marc and Yassin.
• 12: 00 hours: Josep Sendra and Alonso VS Jordi, Adam and Joan.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “BEST OF COVER” at the bull bar, sponsored by the 2024 Commission.
• 19: 30 hours: Fourth entry of cows and a bull from the MÍNGUEZ ranch. Next, IV cow and bull contest from the ELS COVES ranch.
• 22: 00 hours: Paella night on the esplanade of the School Group, entertained by the spectacular “LA TRIBU” orchestra. Next, we will have DJ SERGIO PÉREZ until the body lasts.

Wednesday, July 31 - Bull Day

• 07: 00 hours: Wake up in charge of the quint@s.
• 08: 00 hours: Fifth entry and release of cows by the LA HERMANDAD livestock farm.
• 12: 00 hours: Release of cows and a bull from the MÍNGUEZ ranch.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “RUMBADOS” at the bull bar, sponsored by the 2024 Commission.
• 18: 00 hours: Entry and release of CARRETONS for the smallest bullfighters in the house by “ESPECTACLES L'AFICIÓ”.
• 19: 30 hours: Sixth entry of cows and bulls from the LA PALOMA ranch. Next, V contest of cows and bulls from the FERNANDO MACHANCOSSES ranch.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 23: 30 hours: Children's “Cordà” in charge of the BORREDÁ pyrotechnics in the Plaza de San Antonio, for boys and girls from 8 to 16 years old who have the CRE card, and who come with the appropriate clothing for the occasion.
• 00: 00 hours: Great performance by “TRIBUTO LOKILLO” on the esplanade of the School Group.
• 01: 00 hours: Entry of bulls from the LA PALOMA ranch and then release of cows and bull.

Thursday, August 1 - Children's Day

• 08: 00 hours: despertà in charge of the older Quint@s.
• 10: 00 hours: Concentration of the Children's Quint@s 2024 “LA FLAMA” in Plaza Nueva to begin the children's “awakening” (remember that you must bring all kinds of utensils to make noise).
• 11: 00 hours: Refreshing water park on Alicante Avenue with different inflatables, a “destroyer 50 m” slide and a foam party. During the park, fun is guaranteed for boys and girls, by “ESPECTACLES L'AFICIÓ”. (You need to bring a float for the slide). The commission will distribute ice cream to beat the heat.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” by the group “LA BANDA DE LA ABUELA” at the bull bar, sponsored by the 2024 Commission.
• 14: 00 hours: Lunch at the Social Center for the Quinta Infantil 2024 “LA FLAMA”, sponsored by the 2024 Festival Commission.
• 16: 30 hours: Concentration in the Plaza de la Iglesia where the traveling street theater performance “EL GRAN CIRCUS” will begin by “Espectacles David”, sponsored by the Alicante Provincial Council, for all the children of the town who want to have a good time.
• 18: 00 hours: End of the “TRUC” at the bull bar.
• 18: 30 hours: Entry and release of CARRETONS for the smallest bullfighters in the house by “ESPECTACLES L'AFICIÓ”. Next, lemon water will be distributed to the little ones, sponsored by CA EL TRAMUSSER.
• 19: 30 hours: Seventh entry of cows and a bull from the LA PALOMA ranch. VI Cow and bull competition for the BENAVENT livestock farm.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks with HAWAIIAN PARTY where the 2024 Commission will distribute MANGO tequila to all attendees, therefore, we invite you to come with Hawaiian clothing.
• 23: 00 hours: Night walk for couples, organized by the “ESPEOLÒGIC GATENSE” group, departing from the center's headquarters (School Group).
• 23: 30 hours: Performance by the spectacular “MADRE SELVA” orchestra.

Friday, August 2 - Rock Day

• 08: 00 hours: “Despertà” by the Quint@s 2024.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “LOS SONIDOS” at the bull bar sponsored by Peluquería Lozano.
• 18: 00 hours: Concentration at the CAS to participate in the GREAT TRUCK that will travel through all the streets of the Sorts area. *THE 2024 CELEBRATION COMMITTEE AND THE CITY COUNCIL WARN THAT THEY WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY IMPRUDENTS, OR FOR ANY INCIDENCE THAT MAY HAVE HAPPENED DURING THE EVENT. At the end, in front of the sports center, the 2024 Festival Commission will distribute GIANT SNACKS and GOGO BEER.
• 19: 30 hours: Octava enters cows and bulls from the ELS COVES ranch. VII Contest of cows and a bull by the GREGORIO DE JESÚS ranch and during the performance we will have the release of a colt bull sponsored by Gregorio de Jesús.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks with a HUNTING party (come dressed as hunters). The 2024 Commission will distribute CAZALLA, sponsored by Pinturas Chimo Sendra. In addition, I PUCHERO contest; the best will receive a prize. The 2024 Commission will distribute tables and chairs for all those previously registered.
• 00: 30 hours: Great “BAJOQUETA ROCK” concert. Then return of "CATXIMBA"

Saturday, August 3 - Quintades Day

• 08: 00 hours: “Despertà” by the Quint@s Mayores 2024 “L'ANREDRÀ” and all the quintadas that want to participate.
• 09: 00 hours: Solemn Mass in memory of the quint@s.
• 10: 00 hours: Solemn mass for all the quintadas of the town.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “LOL i POP” at the bull bar, sponsored by the 2024 Commission.
• 18: 30 hours: To continue the party, the great orchestra “OXIDO” will take place on Alicante Avenue.
• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks.
• 23: 00 hours: Night of fun for all audiences and for the quintadas and crews in particular. There will be a spectacular KARAOKE, on the esplanade of the School Group.

Sunday, August 4 - Float Day

• 08: 00 hours: despertà in charge of the Elder Quint@s.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “TOXIC” at the bull bar, sponsored by the 2024 Commission.
• 19: 00 hours: Concentration of floats and groups on foot on the esplanade of the School Group, for the float parade that will be enlivened by the CHARANGA, BATUKADA, “LA COLLA DE DOLÇAINERS I TABALATERS EL MONTGÓ BENIMUSSA” and “LA BANDA UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA”.
• 19: 30 hours: Float parade.

• 22: 00 hours: Dinner in the barracks with 90'S PARTY (come dressed for the occasion). The 2024 Festival Commission will distribute TEQUILA.
• 23: 30 hours: Concert on the esplanade of the School Group with the group “CAPITAL 90”.
• 02: 00 hours: SPECTACULAR “CORREFOC” by “LA COLLA DE DIMONIS DE MISLATA”, with the show “NOCTÁMBULUS”. The “correfoc” will begin on La Paz Street and end on Alicante Avenue with a tremendous pyrotechnic finale.

Monday, August 5 - Day of Offering

• 08: 00 hours: despertà by the Quint@s 2024 “L'ANREDRÀ.
• 12: 00 hours: Solemn mass in thanksgiving for our elders in the town.
• 13: 00 hours: “Bous a banda” with the group “LA MOTXA”, sponsored by the 2024 Commission, on the CSI esplanade. Next, the 2024 Commission will distribute BEER TO GOGO, sponsored by Francisco Tomas e Hijos.
• 13: 30 hours: The Commission will offer a WINE OF HONOR for the elders of the town at the Social Center. And for our elders to shake their bones, we will have a dance enlivened by “Ximo and Raquel”. Meanwhile, the group “DANSES LA LLATA” from Gata will dance.
• 15: 00 hours: Third, fourth and final of the 24 hours of “ESCALA I CORDA” clubs will be played in the “XIQUET DE GATA” trinquet. Organize the Gata Pilota Club.
• 17: 00 hours: A professional game of RASPALL will be played in the “XIQUET DE GATA” trinquet, sponsored by Signes Grimalt. Next, a professional game of “escala i corda” will be played. The NAVY TRIO against MAGO DE PETRER, the number 1 of the mediums and a super point with CARLOS DEL GENOVÉS Reds: Giner - Tomas II - Hector de Laguar. Blues: Frances - Nacho - Carlos II
• 19: 30 hours: Concentration in the Plaza Nueva of the Quint@s Infantiles and Mayores 2024, clubs, associations and all those who wish to participate in the Floral Offering in honor of the Holy Christ of Calvary. Accompanied by the “COLLA DE DOLÇAINERS I TABALATERS EL MONTGÓ-BENIMUSSA”.
• 23: 00 hours: “Revetla” concert. The “BANDA UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA” will offer, once again, a spectacular concert in the Plaza de la Iglesia, accompanied by the representatives of the Quint@s 2024, authorities, the 2024 Festival Commission and the general public. At the end, the “CORDÀ” will be fired in the Enric Valor Park, by BORREDÁ pyrotechnics.

Tuesday, August 6 - Santíssim Crist del Calvari Day

• 08: 00 hours: despertà in charge of the Festival Commission 2024.
• 10:30 am: Parade through the town, led by the “BANDA UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA”.
• 11:00 am: Collection of Quint@s Children and Seniors 2024 and the authorities, by the “BANDA UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA”.
• 12:00 hours: Solemn High Mass in honor of the Holy Christ of Calvary with the participation of the “COR GRUP SERRILLÀS DE GATA”. Altar decorations sponsored by Floralis Florist. At the end of the mass, an aerial bombardment will be fired by BORREDÁ pyrotechnics. Afterwards, WINE OF HONOR at the Social Center, run by the 2024 Festival Commission, where the different prizes will be awarded (streets, floats, costumes, “truc”, night march...).
• 19:00 p.m.: Mass and then solemn procession to accompany the Holy Christ from the church to the Ermita del Calvario, accompanied by the “COLLA DE DOLÇAINERS I TABALATERS EL MONTGÓ BENIMUSSA” and the “UNIÓ MUSICAL DE GATA”. At the end, a spectacular CASTLE of fireworks will be fired, by BORREDÁ pyrotechnics, ending the 2024 Festivities. We hope you have enjoyed them as much as we have worked on them.
