Calp celebrates, starting next year Friday May 2, the second edition of the Calp Piano Festival that will bring together prestigious pianists from the international scene. Concerts will be held at 20:00 p.m. every Friday in May at the Saló Blau with free admission.

The festival will start on May 2, with the performance of the prestigious pianist of Bulgarian origin Plamena Mangova who has developed a brilliant international career. Trained with Marina Kapatsinskaya at the Sofia State Academy of Music in Bulgaria, and later at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, she has performed with some of the most prominent orchestras, such as the Berlin Staatskapelle, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio France, Luxembourg, and Tokyo, the Belgian National Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic in Manchester, the RTVE Symphony Orchestra in Madrid, and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, among others. She has received numerous awards, including second prize in the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Competition in 2007, as well as recognition in other competitions such as the Paloma O'Shea Piano Competition in Santander and the Vittorio Gui Chamber Music Competition in Florence.
