The House of Culture of Pego hosted on Friday the presentation of the V edition of the Circuit Trail Marina, the competition that takes athletics to the mountains and in which the town of Pego participates by hosting one of the tests.

"The mountain is becoming more and more fashionable, this circuit unites the two regions (Marina Alta and Marina Baixa) every weekend, it is a pleasure to see how people collaborate and form a club," said the Councilor for Sports of Pego and also a member of the local club Dorsal 19, Raul Tamarit.

After a year of absence, Pego returns to that Circuit Trail Marina. Although initially the chosen date was September 25, the Vall d'Ebo fire has forced changes to the calendar. "Finally, the test will take place on April 23, 2023, we will make some changes to the circuit, we hope to have a nice test," explained the Councilor for Sports, "we hope that our mountains will be much better on those dates," said the mayor.

So the competition will start this Saturday, September 10 with the 'Sprint Trail Nocturn' test in l'Abdet. It will continue on October 8 with the Trencaclosques de Forna; the Xaló BTM on November 6; the Tres Tossals de Gata on November 27 and the Calp test, Oltà, will close the year on December 11. The tests will continue in 2023 with the Almedia Trail de Callosa d'En Sarrià on January 15; the Senija test, Camí dels Bandolers, on January 29; the Trail Ocaive de Pedreguer on February 12; the Gegant de Pedra de Ondara on February 19 and the Infernal Trail of Orba on March 4. The last three events on the calendar will be the Arrapapedres de Benialí on April 2; the Pego Trail on the 23rd of the same month, and the Primavera Trail in Confrides.

“People who practice sports love nature and that is why we take care of it and respect it. There is no better way than to combine them in a spectacular competition that has become a classic”, concluded Tamarit.
