Concern about the flooding of the Gorgos river that overflows in Xaló and Xàbia

The Marina Alta has been on orange alert for rainfall since this morning. It has been 12 days of rain and the flow of the Gorgos or Xaló river has said enough today.

Since mid-afternoon, the river has been overflowing in Xaló and Xàbia, while the situation of Gata de Gorgos is worrying.

In Xaló, the municipal swimming pool is flooded while the paths of Passula, Castellet, Tarafa, Corrales, the Riurau, which crosses the river, Fondo 2 and Teulera are cut off.

In Xàbia, all the roads of the river remain cut off. The Gorgos has overflowed at the height of the Desalination Plant.

The authorities ask that concerns be extreme and avoid driving through flood-prone areas and near the river.

In the next few hours it will continue to rain intensely, which is why there is concern that the river will continue to overflow at more points as it passes through the municipalities of the Valley of Pop, Gata de Gorgos and Xàbia.
