Yesterday afternoon's performance was a heroic one. The local police and civil protection forces of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell saved the life of a man who had been involved in an accident at home for days. The 83-year-old Norwegian resident had had an accident in his bedroom and had been left motionless on the floor unable to get up to call for help.
It was his daughter who, from her home country, raised the alarm to the police after days without being able to contact him. After receiving the alert, the security forces tried repeatedly to knock on the door without success. No one opened or answered. When they received no answer, and as a last resort, they decided to break a window and access it by means of a ladder.

It was then that they saw an arm moving on the floor next to the bed. The man was very scared, bruised and could not speak, but thanks to the action of the security forces
locals were able to save his life. A Basic Life Support ambulance transferred him to the Hospital of Dénia, where he is currently recovering.
