The coast of the Marina Alta enjoys containing some of the most sought after and visited corners of the Mediterranean coast. However, it is not always accessible to all types of profiles. Pets or, in this case, dogs are not welcome on many of the local beaches.

Pet-friendly beaches in the Marina Alta
Of the seven coastal municipalities of the Marina Alta (Els Poblets, Dénia, Xàbia, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Teulada-Moraira, Benissa and Calp) only two host a dog beach as such. We talk about Dénia and Calp. Both municipalities have a special maritime bathing area where pets are allowed all year round.
Specifically, Dénia does allow dogs on most of the beaches outside of the high and mid-summer season. The presence of pets allowed from November 1 to March 1.
In the Marineta Cassiana and in a section of Les Marines it is possible to access with pets until June 1. However, at the end of the Les Devesses beach and Els Molins beach, the presence of dogs is completely prohibited throughout the year.
Dog beach in Dénia
In the capital of the region, the beach for dogs does not exceed 100 meters, so that the space to enjoy with pets is rather small. However, it is a sandy beach between several breakwaters on the Dianense coast, where the native marine vegetation, posidonia, is very common.
Location
Dénia's dog beach is located on the north breakwater of the port, between Punta del Raset and Baleària station. Its location is easily accessible from the urban area, so it is not necessary to access by car. In addition, it does not have public parking areas nearby.
Beach for dogs in Calp
A few years ago, Calp made the fact of hosting a specific pet-friendly beach a reality. Is about Les Urques cove. It has an extension similar to the previous one, about 100 meters, although this one is made of rock and boulders.
Location
Les Urques is located south of Calp, after the Puerto Blanco marina. to access it it is necessary to reach the Maryvilla Partition number 9, since the area of rocks between the port and the cove has suffered several landslides. Therefore, reaching the beach of Perros Calpina from the shore is impossible and very dangerous.
