The Provincial Court of Alicante will judge, this coming Thursday, a businessman accused of defrauding the owner of a real estate company with an alleged plan to build a marina in Els Poblets. The Prosecutor's Office maintains that the defendant contacted the victim in 2010.
With the intention of profiting, the accused proposed to him to participate in the project, which, according to what he told him, would have
a profit of more than 17 million euros, despite the fact that he knew that the construction was impossible since the
land where the port should go were not developable.
The injured party paid him 98.000 euros, thinking that the project was reliable. The Prosecutor's Office requests a sentence of five years in prison for the defendant for a crime of fraud.
