The City Council of Pego has announced its plans to fill the tourist and cultural agenda of the municipality this summer. Combining both formulas, the weekly routes and concerts will return during the summer months.
Routes in Pego
This will be the second year that the routes are implemented as a way to promote the tourism sector in the Pegolí district. This has been confirmed by the Councilor for Tourism, Ricardo Sendra, who has advanced the two most important aspects that they will have. The excursions will be based mainly on bird watching in the Marjal Natural Park, led by Birdwatching Spain, and on "moonlight hiking" highlighting the historic Castell d'Ambra guided by the team of Tururac.
A total of 12 routes have been estimated, two of them held in June, which will be free and with an approximate capacity of 30 people. They will take place on weekends and, most importantly in a town with such high summer temperatures, they will take place from 19:00 p.m.
In the historical section you will be able to see the darkest chronicle of the town, with the banditry route. Accompanied by Manel Arcos, the itinerary will go through the streets of the municipality to remember stories that happened long ago, at the time when bandits roamed freely. Finally, another of the winning formulas is that of the routes through the walled town. An opportunity to publicize the historic center, as well as to promote local commerce.

For her part, Laura Castellà, Councilor for Culture, has assured the municipal intention to continue with another of the winning formulas of the summer in Pego: concerts and musical performances on Fridays. In this way, during July and until September 2, the municipality will grant various functions in different parts of the town with the aim, again, of valuing the historical heritage of Pego.
The concerts, however, will not have a capacity that will limit attendance, so that achieving the maximum participation of residents and visitors is one of the objectives proposed by the consistory. From 20:30 p.m., jazz, lyrical, classical music or flamenco, among others, will fill every corner of Pego. "A good opportunity to complete the plan with a tasting of Pegolina gastronomy", Castellà encouraged.
