A total of 21 pegolinos and pegolinas have been contracted through the Second Pego Local Employment Plan. These are people who were in a situation of long-term unemployment. "We want to give an opportunity to neighbors who have not had things easy, who may even be at risk of exclusion," explains the Councilor for Economic Promotion and Creama, Ricardo Sendra.
This initiative, explains the councilman, has also contemplated the hiring of young people "in order to facilitate their insertion into the world of work, which has been so complicated in recent years."
Until the month of December (five months of work) these 21 people will carry out maintenance tasks in different parts of the municipality (sweepers, workers, painters, maintenance personnel and forestry brigades).
“It is worth mentioning the work of the personnel of the department of Cream Pego who has been in charge of coordinating this initiative, fully financed by the City Council of Pego with an investment of 180.000 euros. An initiative that we would like to be able to give continuity over time, because there are always people who need help at certain moments in life”, Sendra concludes.
