The Valencian Government's 2025 budget proposal includes a budget allocation for the construction of the Pedreguer Health Center. Specifically, €2.780.000 has been budgeted for the next fiscal year and €1.050.000 for 2026, ensuring the project's continuity.
The mayor of Pedreguer, Sergi Ferrús Peris, highlighted the importance of this investment and recalled the long road traveled to reach this point. "As I have said on several occasions, we have been demanding this for many years," he noted. The process began with the transfer of the site to the Regional Ministry in 2008, before the health concession was awarded to Marina Salud. It wasn't until 2019 that the project first appeared in the Generalitat's budget, with an initial allocation of €200.000 for the drafting of the execution project.
In 2021, the Generalitat (Catalan Government) allocated a specific amount for the health center and included the infrastructure in the Crèixer+ plan, presented in June of that same year, which outlined all the planned investments in the healthcare sector. Since then, the project has followed the established steps, with successive budget allocations that have allowed its development to progress.
Last year, approximately €200.000 was invested in project development and construction management, with the goal of constructing a nearly zero-energy building. The execution plan, which included the basic and operational plans, the archaeological study, the health and safety plan, and waste management, was completed in December 2023.
From that moment on, the bidding process began. On March 20th, the tender was published. minutes of the proposal for the award of the works to the company CEVIAM EPC SL. Once the required documentation has been submitted and the contract signed, the company will have 18 months to complete the works.
Barring any unforeseen events, the new Pedreguer Health Center will be operational in 2026, putting an end to a long wait for local residents.
