Pedreguer creates a Mediterranean forest by restoring a degraded area

Last Saturday, November 13, the final phase of the project “Restoring a degraded area and converting it into a Mediterranean forest” was carried out, which was selected in the II Environmental Call promoted by CaixaBank and Fundación Bancaja and in the V edition of the Rastreator Solidarity Awards.

A project that began at the end of last winter and in which more than 1000 plants of 30 different native species have been planted throughout 27000 m² of land to create a new Mediterranean mosaic forest open to the public that will have an internal infrastructure of paths and rest areas for visitors.

FUNDEM, owner of the land located in Pedreguer, in the Sella mountain, near the Jardí de l'Albarda, wanted to thank all the entities and individuals who have made this project possible and all the volunteers summoned by Treebuu who They came to help during the planting tasks.

Along with the Pedreguer City Council, Rastreator, GVA Agricultura y Transición Ecológica and CaixaBank, among others, have also collaborated.

The Environment Councilor of Pedreguer, Héctor Mulet Garcia, has expressed his satisfaction "to be able to carry out this type of projects and contribute to the creation of new green spaces that we can all enjoy in the future." For their part, Fundem has assured that they will continue working "in our work to protect and conserve nature and we hope to be able to announce new projects to you soon."
