On Friday, May 2, the Jaume I Cultural Centre in Pedreguer will host the expo-recital 'Moments', a new artistic format that will bring together painting, photography, film, and poetry in a single space. Up to five prominent artists from the Marina Alta will be present, each representing their specialty.
On the one hand, local photographer Rafael Carrió and muralist Tardor from Xarera will present a joint exhibition that will remain at the center throughout the month of May. On the other hand, Lidia Santacreu and Eva Ferrer from Benítez, members of Llunació, will perform a poetry recital accompanied by music.
The entire event will be directed by Blai Peris, a communications expert from La Xara, who will also present several audiovisual pieces from his Origami project, such as the recently recognized piece at the Alicante Film Festival, "Alzheimer," filmed in the surrounding area. In this way, the show will serve as a platform for reflection on how different art forms interact and give a voice to young local artists.
Presentation of 'Llavors Itinerants'
The event will also serve as a presentation of the organizing group, Traveling KeysThis is a new cultural group created with the aim of boosting artistic activity in the region by organizing various events. To this end, three local artists have joined forces to take part in this project.
One of them is Sergi Sánchez, a prominent musician known for his involvement in event production throughout the Marina and its surrounding areas. "Through my projects, I always seek to connect, inspire, and promote local talent," he says. This new group was born with this intention, aiming to bring cultural offerings with social impact to the region and, at the same time, serve as a vehicle for presenting new talent.
"We come from the world of poetry, but we want to open ourselves to all possible art forms," says Júlia Vela, a renowned poet from the Marina and Safor areas and also a member of the group. "Music, painting, photography, murals, film, crafts... anything considered art can have a place at an event."
One goal: reflection
All of this has one purpose: reflection. This is how Blai Peris, actor, communicator, and third member of the group, explains it. He will be in charge of directing the event on the 2nd, contributing his experience of more than five years presenting poetry-musical formats: "We consume culture to entertain ourselves, but also to learn new things about ourselves or the world around us. With that philosophy, we approach Friday's show and, in general, all the events we will organize."
"From the Marina Alta to the world," as its motto goes, Llavors Itinerants (@llavorsitinerants) will be unveiled this Friday with a show worthy of the region's great talent. It will be held at the Casal Jaume I in Pedreguer, starting at 19:00 p.m.
