A magnificent pyrotechnic show put the end, on Sunday, to the patron saint festivities in honor of Virgen de la Soledad 2020-21 of Ondara. After more than two years since the celebration of the last patron saint festivities (July 2019), due to the pandemic, est 2021, the ondarencs and ondarenques have been able to once again enjoy the events in honor of their patron saint, which have been held with a lot of desire and a lot of fervor; complying, yes, with all the measures established by the anti-covid regulations.
The festivities have been organized by the 2020-21 Soledad Festivities Commission on atypical dates (September instead of July) and that have led to the delay in the age of the Court of Honor to 19 years (instead of 18 ) and the Children's Court to 7 years (instead of 6).
The events have been adapted and centralized in the bullring, with ticket reservations, access control and reduced capacity. The celebrations have been organized by the 2020-21 Soledad Festivities Commission, with the leading role of the Major and Children's Courts of Honor, the Virgen de la Soledad Association and the Santa Ana Parish, represented by its parish priest Joaquín Silvestre.
The main novelty of the Patron Saint Festivities was lived this past Sunday, September 12, Offering Day, when the Virgen de la Soledad moved for the first time for this emotional act to the Plaza de Toros, where the floral offering took place, In which associations and groups from Ondara and the general public participated.
Ondara could thus enjoy this act within the bullring; location that in addition to allowing security measures, achieved a spectacular display of the floral offering to the patron. Then mass was celebrated in the Plaza de Toros. Previously, in the transfer of the image of the Virgin, he stopped in the Plaza del Convent so that from the Verge de la Soledat Residence he could make his floral offering.
Present at the offering ceremony were José Ramiro, mayor of Ondara; Miguel Gomis, councilor for Fiestas and Traditions and Joaquín Silvestre, parish priest of Ondara. The Soledad festivities have counted for their celebration with the collaboration of the Department of Festivities and Traditions of the Ondara City Council.
On Friday night the other emblematic act of the Fiestas de la Soledad that has been held in the Plaza de Toros took place: the Coronation of the Queens 2020-2021.
The 2021 Major Queen is Alicia Teresa Ruiz Álvarez; and the Court of Honor is made up of Ana García Poquet (1st Lady), Ángela Quinto Fornés (2nd Lady), Marc Estellés Monago, Javier Mohedano Gómez, Aitana Valero Pous, Anna Oliver Puigcerver, Ailén Pèrez Soldevila, Luismi Parra Valle and Carolina Costa Escura. The 2021 Children's Queen is Nayara García Martínez and the 2021 Children's Court of Honor is made up of Clara Perles Miñana and Pedro Luis Ferrando Tineo.
The Festeros de Honor 2021 are Dora Martí Cabrera and Berto Salort Morell. The Soledad 2021 Commission is made up of Esperanza Monago Granados, Carlos Estellés López, Inés Tineo Cadena, Pedro Luis Ferrando Bolufer, Inma Valle Márquez, Miguel Parra Ardoy, Isabel Pous Obon, Jaume Valero Escortell, Magda Miñana Garrido, Pere Perles Toro, Mª Rosario Poquet Ramiro, Rafael Beteta Bermúdez, Patricia Martínez Vidal and Francisco José García Esteban.
It should be noted that for the first time, the Coronation was enlivened as a novelty by live music by the Universal Chamber Orchestra, which performed magnificent and renowned film soundtracks (Cinema Paradiso, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Game Of Thrones, Brave Twilight, Alicia In The Country, Avatar, Legends Of Passion, The Avengers Piano, Back To The Future ...). The Coronation had the participation of the Queens of 2019, Marta Femenia Mud and the girl, Naiara Moll Cabrera, who gave the witness to the Queens of 2021.
The Mayor of Ondara, José Ramiro, thanked the Commission and the Courts of Honor Soledad 2020-2021 for their efforts in his Coronation ceremony speech, which "have worked a lot to be able to offer a program full of esteem and care", adapted to the circumstances; and made a special mention of the act that has united the town of Ondara with its patron, in the bullring, highlighting that, among the main identifiers of the town of Ondara, is "our way of living collectively, our bullring and our patroness"; that have been brought together in the same event (this year's Offering), in the bullring, with the image of Soledad. The Mayor also advanced that "we already have a Court of Honor and Party Commission for 2022, without having finished some parties, the others are already underway."
This year the religious procession and the popular floats through the streets could not be carried out for safety reasons.
