Yesterday the Ordinary Plenary Session was held in the Ondara City Council in which the adhesion to a motion that tries to prevent the Government of the Generalitat Valenciana from ending the associations such as the Regional Association of the Marina Alta was approved. José Ramiro, Mayor of Ondara, explained that "wanting to eliminate it is going against a positive organization for the region, an organization that, above all, is a solidarity fund for populations that have few resources."
According to Ramiro, «The Government of PP and Vox has the will to eliminate the Regional Association of the Marina Alta since they believe that the provincial institutions are sufficient to face all the challenges and needs». This point was advanced with the vote in favor of PSPV-PSOE and Compromís and with the abstention of the PP. Their spokesman, Álex Hernández, said that in principle "they were going to vote against because there are things that the motion says that are not true, since the Mazón Government does not want to end all the associations and, in addition, wants to provide more money to the town councils directly.
"We voted abstention because we also understand that the Commonwealth of Marina Alta is helping those populations with few resources," said the PP politician. Hernández proposed carrying out a study on the viability of the Marina Alta community "to find out if it works well and tell the Government of the Generalitat that ours is not touched."
On the other hand, in the Ordinary Plenary Session of June, it was unanimously established which will be the two local holidays for 2025. They will be Monday, July 14, Feast of Soledad, and Friday, July 25, Festival of Santiago. According to José Ramiro, Mayor of Ondara, "since Santa Ana's Day falls on a Saturday, we move the festival to the previous day."
Regarding the daily management of the Ondara City Council, the initial approval of a proposal to regulate the provision of services in a non-face-to-face mode in the city council was unanimously voted in favor, which is known as teleworking. According to Ramiro, the proposal takes into account "that the provision of services does not decrease for the neighbor."
Jordi Dominguis, CEO of SINMA, explained why a management assignment has been made to SINMA for the service of the Vicente Zaragoza Municipal Sports Center in Ondara. According to him, the objective is to have better and greater efficiency in management. All political parties voted in favor of this point.
At the ordinary plenary session in June, three points related to the budget. On the one hand, an extrajudicial recognition of credits for an amount of 17.556 euros in invoices that must be paid; the PP voted against "based on the intervention report." On the other hand, a modification of credits with a credit transfer of around 50.000 euros that go from some economic items to others was also unanimously voted in favor. And a credit supplement was also unanimously approved to include in the budget a series of financial items related to contributions to the MASSMA, the Firefighters Consortium, training programs or the maintenance of public buildings and sports services.
Taking advantage of the fact that June 28 is International LGTBI+ Pride Day, Jordi Dominguis, representing the Councilor for Equality Àngels Grimalt (who was not present at the plenary session), read an institutional statement from the FEMP (Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces ) so that the Ondara City Council adhered to it. He came out ahead with the vote in favor of all the formations with representation in the consistory.
In reports, each councilor of the Government Team explained the most important actions that have been carried out in recent days and weeks. It should be noted that, with regard to Santiago, Festival Councilor Jordi Ruiz explained that this year The fee for having a gambling den will be 180 euros. In this regard, Álex Hernández, spokesperson for the PP, asked if there was a possibility of lowering that amount because "for some clubs it is a very big effort and it is unfair." José Ramiro, Mayor of Ondara, explained that it was not possible to make any reduction since the Municipal Festival Ordinance is being applied, "an ordinance that all parties voted in favor of." Jordi Ruiz, also a Treasury Councilor, reported that the Europarty had a cost for Ondara of around 30.000 euros "after having expenses of 64.258 euros and income of 34.217 euros." And, regarding the Zorra Fest, José Ramiro said that a collaboration agreement was signed with the Nebulossa group that included a financial collaboration from the Ondara City Council of 12.000 euros, the transfer of the Bullring, a safety manual for the event, external security and ambulances.
