Ondara begins work to improve the horse yard and the old slaughterhouse in the Bullring

February 11 from 2025 - 13: 21

Yesterday, February 10, work began on improving the horse yard and former slaughterhouse of the Bullring of OndaraThe intervention, which will be carried out by the company Excavaciones y Desmontes Pistola, has a completion period of 15 weeks and a total budget of 92.012,92 euros (VAT included).

The Councillor for Public Maintenance and Services of the Ondara Town Council, Miguel Gomis, explained that the aim of the project is to improve the conditions of the horse yard, where the old slaughterhouse is located, currently in disuse. The aim is to optimise both the functionality and the aesthetics of the premises, as well as to provide it with new infrastructures to guarantee its proper use.

Among the main planned works, the drinking water network, currently obsolete, will be renovated and other networks will be built in anticipation of future installations. The complete renovation of the floor will also be carried out, which will acquire an earth tone to improve its aesthetic integration. Likewise, the access door will be replaced by a gate with a mesh, with the same aesthetic as the other doors in the square, allowing greater visibility of the patio from the outside.

The former slaughterhouse will be renovated both inside and outside, creating a functional space that will include a storage area and an adapted toilet. In addition, a watering trough will be built in the covered area for horses.

Councillor Miguel Gomis stressed that these improvements will provide the Ondara Bullring with an entrance in optimal conditions, as well as generating a usable space that will not only improve the aesthetics of the venue, but, above all, its functionality.
