The Pedreguer City Council put into operation on September 7 a new charging point for electric cars. The new semi-fast charging station is located in Plaça Mossen Cinto Verdaguer, next to La Formiga park.
The station has two Type 2 bases (Mennekes). In this way the simultaneous charging of two hybrid or 100% electric vehicles. This point will be able to supply up to 11 kW per base, in such a way that it will give the vehicles 100 km of autonomy for each hour of charging.
The charging point in Pedreguer will be free and open to its more than 7 residents of the town, as well as to all possible visitors.
The company responsible for managing the municipal recharging network is Coves Energy. In December 2018 they installed the first charging point, which, to date, accounts for more than 250 recharges.
These projects have had the endorsement of the Institut Valencià de Competitivitat Empresarial (IVACE). The first phase has been carried out through the installation program of recharging infrastructures for electric cars in the Valencian Community. The second phase has been supported by the MOVES Program.
Pedreguer is part of the Covenant of Mayors and the European Local4Green Program. At the inauguration of the charging station, Sergi Ferrús, mayor of the municipality, expressed the town's commitment to reducing emissions associated with transport. In this way, Pedreguer continues to bet on achieving climate neutrality and promoting sustainability.
