More than 8.000 people lived in Xaló the tenth edition of Xalónia

May 16 from 2022 - 13: 51

Very satisfactory has been the assessment that the mayor of Xaló, Joan Miquel Garcés, has made of the Xalónia festival, held this past weekend. More than 8.000 people have passed through the event, which reached its tenth edition, throughout Saturday and Sunday. A "very important" figure, according to the mayor, "because we have to take into account that Xaló currently has a population that does not reach 3.000 inhabitants."

Xalónia was inaugurated as always by the oldest and smallest person in town. At the end, visitors and the neighborhood participated in the different activities that made up this edition: Music Festival, Wine and Picaeta Fair, Trade and Craft Fair, Rastro, Mercado de la Tierra, the Jalon Valley May Fayre It helps that this year sporting events have been added, such as the departure from Xaló of the Gandia-Pego-Xaló Rally and the finals of the provincial leagues of the Sports Games of the Valencian Community.

According to Garcés, “we are very happy because the Covid had cut the inertia that Xalónia had so good that more people came with each edition. In 2020 we couldn't celebrate it and in 2021 it was a special edition with only the rock concert. That is why it was essential to make Xalónia attractive again and I think we have managed to re-engage people”.

In addition, the Xaló City Council wanted to thank the involvement of all the associations and entities of the town, thanks to which the celebration of Xalónia has been possible, a festival that year after year works to vindicate what makes us a town.
