Thus, for the recovery of the railway circulation of the L9 of the TRAM network in the peri-urban section Calp-Dénia, 43,4 million euros will be allocated. These are works necessary to modernize the line with the aim of reestablishing the service between the stations in both towns, which is currently interrupted until other actions can be completed in different sections and new dual diesel-electric trains can be added.
This action includes projects such as the adaptation and improvement of the Teulada-Gata-Dénia section; the execution of the new Quisi, Algar and Mascarat viaducts, and the improvement of signaling, communications and the automatic train protection system between Calpe and Dénia.
On the other hand, in order to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly modes of travel, 25,8 million euros will be invested in improving accessibility and service frequencies on L9 of the TRAM network.
In this sense, we will proceed to the adaptation of platforms and renovation of the Benidorm station; the construction of the technical crossing at the El Albir halt; to the electrification of the section between Benidorm-Intermodal and Garganes-Altea, and the abolition of the Benidorm level crossing.
The execution of the works on the L9 of TRAM, in the periurban Calpe-Dénia section, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.
