The new name of the space dedicated to culture was submitted to a popular vote. The residents of Pego had to choose between two options, Carmel Giner Bolufer or Carmen Alemany Bay, two prominent figures from the Pegolino municipality, recognized for their achievements throughout their professional careers.

The Councilor for Culture, Laura Castellà was in charge of revealing the results of the vote, carried out over the internet. "There have been a total of 355 people who have participated in the online vote, of which 296 have voted for Carmen Alemany Bay, while 59 have opted for Carmel Giner Bolufer."

«Personally, and I think I also speak for my party, I am, we are, proud that the future library bears the name of a woman. In this case, that of Carmen Alemany, a woman with great international projection, recognized in the world of education and who has lived a large part of her life surrounded by books », also pointed out the mayor of Culture.
