The health situation in the region is critical. And the voices that are raised to denounce it are those of the health workers who have to live on the edge every day.
On the one hand, labor improvements for the workforce have been paralyzed by Sanitat by blocking the agreement between workers and Marina Salud. And, on the other, since there are no guarantees for professionals, the lack of personnel, who leave or do not arrive, causes a poor quality of care for patients.
And the process of reversion of health in the region to public management has aggravated the conflict. A tense situation between the Ministry, the concessionaire Ribera Salud and the toilets of the Marina Alta.
Last Thursday a large group of professionals from Marina Salud demonstrated in front of the Palau de la Generalitat in Valencia to protest their unworthy working condition and everything that this derives from. After the demonstration, the Marina Salud Company Committee met with the regional secretary of the Ministry of Health to discuss various issues.
After the meeting, the Committee announced that Ribera Salud has filed an appeal against the reversion regulations transferred by Sanitat to carry out the transition in the best possible way. In addition, the toilets were able to learn that the company has not complied with the documentation delivery deadline that ended on March 15.
Despite the efforts, the workers were able to learn that the Department was not willing to withdraw the lawsuit against the agreement "since two Departments were prosecuted and involved." So the best in working conditions will continue to be blocked. While Ribera Salud continues without accepting the internal agreements that the professionals raise.
Faced with this "blockade situation", they have no choice but to continue fighting for their rights as workers and for those of patients who are equally, or more, harmed by the problem.
The Sanitat de la Marina Alta does not give up and, for this reason, the next steps will be to call a meeting with the mayors of the region, organize another demonstration in Marqués de Campo de Dénia Like a year ago, calling a general assembly of workers and even considering the possibility of carrying out a strike.
