Foreign residents of Benissa express their concerns about spills and clean-up to the town hall

The mayor of Benissa, Arturo Poquet, and the Councilor for Territorial Strategy and Costa Zone, Isidor Mollà, held a meeting in the sea classroom last week with foreign residents of the coastal area of ​​the municipality that lasted about two hours. The main issues discussed were cleaning and citizen security, although specific issues on lighting and asphalting also appeared.

Both Mollà and Poquet focused their speech on explaining to the attendees all the actions carried out over the last three and a half years in the area. Likewise, because he said that the Department of Modernization is currently working on a specifications of video surveillance cameras that will strengthen the police task from two perspectives, the deterrence and the sanctioner.

On the neighborhood part, they took the floor around a dozen people who transferred to the highest local president and their vice mayor a series of suggestions focused primarily on aspects such as illegal spills, garbage collection or street cleaning service. Poquet, who since his arrival to the government has had as absolute priority decentralize the municipal services of the urban area, declared: "We have substantially improved services in the Costa Zone but we are aware that we continue to have a lot of work ahead."

The meeting also served to explain the project for improvement and adaptation of Cala Advocat, which said it is "the result of an extraordinary work that is raised from the maximum environmental respect and under sustainability parameters."

At the end of the meeting, the local authorities and the Director General of Landscape, Rosa Pardo, inaugurated the traveling exhibition on the different projects of the Cala Advocat that can be visited during the months of October and November.

With this appointment, the Benissa City Council intends to "continue renaturing the space and value Benissa's coast," Mollà said.
