The new restaurants of the Marina Alta in the Michelin Guide: these are the best of 2022

November 22 from 2022 - 09: 00

The prestigious Michelin Guide is already preparing its entire arsenal to publicize the restaurants that will have the precious stars next year 2023. The gala is scheduled for today, November 22, when it will be held and broadcast from Toledo to the rest of the world.

For this reason, with just a few hours to go to find out about the new award-winning restaurants and those highlighted by the gastronomic entity, we review the restaurants in the Marina Alta with and without a Michelin star that the Guide recommended for this 2022. In addition, at the end of September it incorporated two new recommendations which are also located in the region. We tell you everything.

Benissa

Benissa had, before the end of the summer, two Michelin-recommended restaurants on its streets. Casa del Maco is the first. A hotel located in a XNUMXth century estate at the foot of the Serra de Bèrnia, which in its restaurant offers the best of French and Mediterranean cuisine.

Of Casa Cantó, the Guide highlights its multiple rooms and the glass-enclosed cellar that it presents in its main room. A place to go if you are looking for traditional cuisine delicacies that combine with rice, seafood and fish.

Now, the gastronomic entity has expanded its benissera suggestions and has recently included the Casa Bernardi restaurant. The most recognized face of the place is the Italian chef Ferdinando Bernardi, who made headlines in May 2021 for leave the kitchen of the Michelin-starred restaurant Orobianco in Calp.

Casa Bernardi is, according to the entity, "the chef's most personal commitment" where you can try modern and technical Italian cuisine through its three tasting menus. In addition, it emphasizes that it makes the most of the local product of the garden, that of small producers and that of the fishermen of the region.

Calp

It is in the town of Calp where we already began to see the stars. We are talking about the Audrey's and Beat restaurants, which maintained the distinction at the last gala held in December 2021.

On the other hand, the Komfort receives the recognition of Bib Gourmand, thus becoming a great recommendation of the Guide for its excellent relationship between quality and price. It is part of a gastronomic hotel where traditional and international cuisine is combined.

The last restaurant in Calp that the Guide recommends is the Orobianco. He highlights the tasting menus "full of technique and good product" and, in addition, the impressive views that the restaurant's terrace has.

Dénia

As the capital of the Marina Alta, it also well deserves the title of UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. The municipality has no more and no less than five restaurants highlighted by the Michelin Guide. Two of them, Peix & Brases and Quique Dacosta with a star. The latter has, specifically, three, what the entity calls "single kitchen".

Miquel's Baret, for its part, also receives the Bib Gourmand distinction. While, as recommended, in Dénia You can find El Raset and Aticcook.

Moraira

The Guide includes Moraira among its recommendations to visit in the region with the Sand restaurant. He emphasizes its “urban-current style and a very varied menu with a Mediterranean and international tint”. But the entity does not overlook its location and highlights its proximity to the well-known beach of La Ampolla.

Ondara

Ondara houses a classic of the Guide and one of the most beloved in the region. This is Casa Pepa, opened by the chef Pepa Romans in 1986. Now, under the command of Aina Serra, she bases her recipes on the most traditional market cuisine and Mediterranean products.

Xàbia

Another of the great ambassadors of the Michelin Guide in the Marina Alta is Xàbia. Like Dénia, it has five outstanding restaurants among its streets. Among all, BonAmb stands out, with two stars, the entity considers it a place with "exceptional cuisine."

Tula, La perla de Jávea and Tosca join the recommendations of this year's Guide. And finally, the last of the Michelin-recommended additions is the Volta i Volta restaurant. Located in the old town of Xabienc, it mixes Mediterranean cuisine with Italian touches "and from other latitudes", according to the Guide.
