After a primary process to choose the candidate for mayor for the next elections in 2023, Compromís de Benissa has announced that the head of the list will be represented by Mari Carme Ronda.
Two candidacies were presented to the primaries. On the one hand, that of Mari Carme Ronda, Technical Architect and Secondary School Teacher. On the other, Josep Lluís Armengol, a merchant from Benissa and a graduate in Psychology and Nursing. Finally, Ronda was chosen by the militancy of the local group, who is currently a councilor of Compromís in opposition to the Benissa City Council.
Compromís Benissa will have, for the second consecutive time, a candidate for mayor of the town. In this way, the orange collective claims to bet on the empowerment of women also in local politics.
Ronda has experience as a councilor both in the opposition and in the government of Benissa, where she developed her responsibility in the departments of Territorial Strategy (General Plan), Environment, Documentation and Cultural Spaces and Justice, among others.
The candidate has expressed her gratitude to the militancy for the participation and the support that both candidates have received. “Now it is time for all of us to prepare, for the Municipal Elections of 2023, a good Compromís por Benissa candidacy and a real and solid government program of the actions that are so necessary to carry out in the coming years”, Ronda has stated.
