The boys and girls of the municipality want to take care of the environment. This was requested at the last Consell d'Infància i adolescència held last Saturday in the plenary hall of the Town Hall.
The representatives of the four schools requested the realization of activities to raise awareness and knowledge of the Marjal de Pego. They also put on the table the possibility of organizing a cleaning day to help preserve natural spaces, specifically the natural area. "We believe that it is important to take care of the environment, because it helps us to live better," they insisted.
They are also concerned about the cleanliness of the streets of the municipality and the education of the Pegolinos in this regard, “we must continue to educate dog owners so that they do not leave their excrement on the streets. The use of pipi-cans should be promoted and bags should be put up for their collection”.
Leisure is also an essential point for the little ones. In fact, some of the requests presented in this Consell dealt with this subject. Along these lines, they commented on the need to improve some of the parks in the municipality, "they need renovation, we believe that a park with games for adolescents could be adapted."
The expansion of the Passeig Michel skatepark, the construction of a pump truck or a zip line, were other demands regarding leisure.
The young people also showed their interest in theater or cinema and disciplines such as chess, “we would like theater and comedy workshops to be held; and that a free chess group be encouraged”. They also requested the modernization of the Municipal Theater "to be able to watch movies."
In order to enjoy leisure safely, they asked that on weekends or holidays "the streets be closed to be able to play safely because of cars." Finally, they pointed out the need to improve lighting in the sports center.
As usual, the East Council was attended by representatives of the different political groups. Given the requests of the smallest and smallest, the mayor, Enrique Moll thanked "the interest they have in improving our municipality, it is important that young people get involved in this type of action." The mayor also explained that some of the demands are already a reality, such as the chess group or the pedestrianization of the center, "from Thursday to Sunday the old part of the municipality is closed to traffic, people can enjoy the streets calmly."
Regarding awareness and respect for the environment, and also for public roads, the municipality indicated that, "in addition to the campaigns and efforts of the City Council, the involvement of the people is necessary, for which reason he asked the smallest that encourage "at home, with friends or acquaintances", healthy habits for nature.
The municipality assured that the executive will take into account the rest of the requests put on the table, although he qualified that some of them have more difficulties than others, "so more time and work is needed to carry them out."
