09 July 2022 - 09: 00

One of the main charms of the Marina Alta lies in its idyllic coasts. There are numerous beaches and coves that make it up, each one with its peculiarities that distinguish it from the rest. These draw a map from north to south that is easy to navigate on vacation. For this reason, we bring you the best corners of the coast of the region to disconnect and live the best summer of your life.

The best beaches in the Marina Alta this 2022, according to the FEE

Dénia

The capital of the Marina Alta is one of the most successful municipalities in the summer season. It is a fishing village, therefore, one of its strengths is that a large part of its atmosphere and offer revolves around the sea. From Santa Anna beach, the furthest from the town center, to the end of Les Rotes, the Dianense coast bathes almost half of the region and offers endless summer possibilities.

One of the destinations on the coast of Dénia The most successful is Arenetes beach. A rock cove in the Les Rotes area with a horizon that merges the sky with the Mediterranean Sea. In addition, this entire area at the end of the Dianense coast is full of bars and restaurants where you can taste the typical cuisine of the area.

Xàbia

Xàbia It has become an icon of summer for anyone who visits the region. You just have to browse social media a little at this time of year to see that, indeed, some of the most influential figures you follow have been seen there. And not in vain.

Its three best coves are, without a doubt, La Granadella, La Barraca, also called Portitxol, or La Cala Blanca. They are the most valued, although, for this precise reason, they have a high occupancy during the summer season. Perhaps for this reason, it is becoming more and more common to travel along the Xabienc coast in recreational boats in a controlled and appropriate manner. In this way you can discover views and corners of the magnificent Xàbia never seen before.

El Poble Nou de Benitatxell

Passing the large municipalities to the north of the Marina Alta is the Poble Nou de Benitatxell. A relatively small town that contains one of the most striking destinations in the area. Behind the impressive Puig Llorença massif hides the Moraig cove.

An area between cliffs that promises one of the most crystalline waters in the region. It is a gravel cove that admits various underwater activities and that, in addition, has a nudist area on the far left. Next to it is the Moraig Falla, a unique geological element recently cataloged as a Natural Monument.

Teulada-Moraira

The route to the south of the region leads to Teulada-Moraira. This municipality is made up of two population centers, one further inland and the other facing the coast. This makes it a perfect destination to combine various tourist activities in the same location.

The historic center of Teulada, called Walled Gothic Teulada, is listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest as a Historic Site. After a walk through its streets, cooling off in the hidden cove Llebeig can be a success. Through the Barranc de la Viuda from Moraira, the cove is the ideal place to unwind. Although if your plan includes a good lunch or dinner, the best beaches in Moraira near the coastal restaurants are l'Ampolla, el Portet or les Platgetes.

Benissa

Benissa does not have as much coastal land as Dénia, Xàbia or Teulada-Moraira, however it hides some corners of the coast worthy of admiration. The Baladrar cove, for example, has been recognized this year with the Blue Flag that guarantees the best experience for its visitors.

This wonderful place is divided between El Baladrar and La Goleta, due to a rocky inlet located at sea level. To go down to it, it is necessary to descend the stairs that lead the way to its shore. It is a unique area for its rounded stones, its crystal clear water and the abundant marine fauna and flora.

Calp

Calp's summer offer is also one of the most sought after. The influx of holiday tourism is very high whatever the time of year. So, its houses and constructions facing the sea fill up, especially in summer. The municipality is home to some of the most visited beaches in the region, such as La Fossa or Arenal-Bol. Its popularity is complemented by the wide range of restaurants and hotels.

However, if what you are looking for is tranquility or something more genuine, El Collao cove or Racó del Corb is a less crowded destination. Of course, to access it it is better to do it by sea, by means of a boat. This is because it is located next to the Morro del Toix cliffs, making it quite difficult to access on foot. Close to it is the Gasparet cove which, being a hidden cove from the common public, its landscape is made of virgin rock, with gravel sand and boulders.

Comments
  1. Theresa Diaz Pinto says:

I believe that in Javea the Government team should learn something from other Governments with the same initials, the example of Mr. José Luis Blanco Azuqueca de Henares, who for his good work has won for his people "the National Prize for cleaning and caring for Parkland"
I am more and more convinced that it is not the acronyms but the know-how of people

  2. Juan Carlos says:

Please, when the sea is named (in the article about Dénia) Mediterranean, it is written in capital letters.
    Thank you.

  3. neighbor of the Arenal says:

In Jávea you can enjoy the SHIT that is on the beach, the outfall is broken a few meters from the shore, there it releases EVERYTHING that Jávea releases through the WC.
Greetings and thank your mayor CHULVI for his great management.

    • Erika says:

You're right. They said they were going to fix it and there it continues, releasing feces and with people bathing around it, since no one informs them. Of course, they have not dared to put the blue flag. A great achievement. And, to top it off, all the places, small or tiny coves where you can bathe, albeit with some difficulty, are full of algae.
Also the Paseo del Arenal, at certain hours of the night, is impassable, full of drunks vomiting anywhere or destroying what they find in their path, proof of this is the vandalism that has knocked down the statue of the tennis player Ferrer. All a delight.
