Do you know what is the average budget that your City Council manages? And of this, how much is he investing in you and yours? From garbage collection and street maintenance to education and medical care, the councils have a responsibility to ensure that their inhabitants enjoy a good quality of life. However, the cost of providing these services can vary significantly from one municipality to another.

It is important to note that municipal budgets can be very different depending on the size of the population, the resources available and the needs of the citizens. In general, larger municipalities tend to have more resources and can spend more money on services and programs. However, this is not always the case, as some smaller municipalities may have specific needs that require more resources.

A study of El País which analyzes the budget settlements of all the Spanish City Councils, based on the average expenses that they have had between 2018 and 2021, reveals the investment that each one makes in each of its inhabitants.

The data collected in this study reveal that the range of expenditure per inhabitant in the region is between 2.378 euros, the one that invests the most, and 818 euros, the one that invests the least. So, the one that invested the most in the period of time established in the analysis was Tormos, followed by Vall d'Alcalà (1.915 euros), Vall de Gallinera (1.862 euros) and Vall d'Ebo (1.756 euros). . In municipalities with a smaller population such as these, the budget for each inhabitant may be higher than in towns with more neighbors.

At the other extreme, those who spend the least on each inhabitant, are Gata de Gorgos (818 euros), Beniarbeig (965 euros), Alcalalí and El Verger (952 euros). At an intermediate level of this scale, there would be many of the coastal towns of the Marina Alta. From north to south, Dénia invest 1.265 euros, Xàbia 1.109 euros, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell 1.517 euros, Teulada Moraira 1.552 euros, Benissa 1.408 euros and, finally, Calp spends 1.367 euros on each inhabitant.

It would be interesting to see where he got that data from.

  2. Jopelin says:

It just so happens that of those who say that they spend on average the budget per inhabitant, they are the ones with the most second residence apartments, who pay taxes but do not enter the expense/inhabitant ratio as they are not registered.
That is, where does the money go?

It seems very good to me... a round of applause for the mayor and yes, the city council
