The Bomba i Bombó Gastronomic Rice Festival in Pego has become a tradition that attracts many locals and visitors to the local bars and restaurants each year. It is now in its fifteenth year, consolidating itself as a recognised culinary event in the region. From 19 to 27 in OctoberPego will once again be the great exponent of the municipality's crop par excellence, the bomba and bombón rice grown in the Marjal.

"Les Jornades de l'Arrós de Pego are an unforgettable gastronomic experience, offering diners unique, fresh and local products," said Raúl Tamarit, Councillor for Commerce, Economic Promotion and Pego Cream. The councilor has been accompanied by the technique of Cream Pego, Alicia Carbonell, as well as four Pegolins hoteliers, representing the establishments Restaurant Rafel de Pego, L'om, El Moss and Tot Cuina.

The sessions will cover two full weekends, since this is when most visitors can come to the municipality. For his part, Carbonell has stressed that the Jornades Gastronòmiques de Pego are conceived not only as a way of promoting local rice, but also all the products that Pegolina's land carries as its flag, such as pumpkin or orange, encouraging chefs to introduce these foods in their preparations, such as desserts.

This initiative has the support of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, as well as the department headed by Tamarit. The councillor has invited all those who want to enjoy this unique gastronomic initiative: "Coming to the conference is not just about eating rice, it is about enjoying the town, the company and the time spent in Pego and its hospitality industry."

There will be 14 establishments participating in this XNUMXth edition of the Bomba Rice and Bombón Gastronomic Days.

The hospitality representatives have been able to explain what their most famous rice dishes will consist of. For his part, the chef from L'om has highlighted his rice a banda of matured cow with lacquered and braised marrow. At Tot cuina they will be betting on a risotto of boletus, duck and asparagus tips or a rice "stuffed with the sole", among others. Rafel, from Restaurant Rafel in Pego, has pointed out that different rice dishes are offered every day in each establishment, but in his establishment the one with duck, boletus and chestnuts is very successful. The representative from El Moss in Pego has highlighted that they will be betting on classic rice dishes, highlighting the one with chicken, mushrooms and tender garlic.

As in all editions, a list of daily menus for each establishment is available to diners so that they can choose when they prefer to visit them. This information will be distributed in the form of a physical brochure in different places in Pego, as well as on the websites and social networks of the City Council, Creama and the establishments involved.

Hoteliers have highlighted the Importance of advance booking to be able to offer a better service. For this reason, each establishment on the list is accompanied by the phone number to go to for a reservation. In addition to the contact, each included menu specifies the price of the day

As a way of showing their gratitude, the hoteliers will present their guests with a wooden spoon, which is already a symbol of the Pegolinas rice festival and of their gastronomic culture.
