The Xarxa Jove de la Marina Alta will resume this February the itinerant “Youth Information Points” (PIJ) project, an initiative launched in 2021 with the aim of bringing advice and guidance to young people in municipalities with fewer than 4.500 inhabitants. The proposal is aimed at young people between 12 and 30 years old and seeks to offer a space for information, training and educational leisure.
The project is carried out in coordination with the municipalities of the region and aims to guarantee youth access to employment, educational and housing guidance services. In addition, group activities will be organised to focus on social skills, free-access games and support in the processing of aid and subsidies, among other resources. The service will be available in the afternoons, from 16:30 p.m. to 19:30 p.m.
New this year is the integration of psychological perspectives into the youth area in a cross-cutting manner, with sessions aimed at improving the emotional well-being of young people.
The Xarxa Jove de la Mancomunitat Comarcal de la Marina Alta highlights that the programme is structured around three fundamental axes. Firstly, the emancipation axis, focused on the detection of information needs and access to resources. Secondly, the educational leisure axis, which promotes awareness-raising and emotional management activities. And finally, the participation axis, whose purpose is to encourage the involvement of young people in associations and volunteer programmes.
The team of facilitators is confident that the programme will be as well received as in previous years and aims to continue adapting the activities to the needs and interests of the youth in the region.
