The 76th edition of the Volta Ciclista a la Comunitat Valenciana continues its course with a spectacular route that this Thursday took the peloton through the Marina Alta. The video shows the athletes crossing Benissa on a stretch between Calp and the Valley of Pop.
After the first stage held on Wednesday in Orihuela, the second day started from La Nucia towards Benifato, with a route that included passes through emblematic towns such as Finestrat, Relleu, Aigües, Altea, Xaló, Alcalalí, Parcent, Tàrbena, Bolulla, Callosa d'en Sarrià, Polop and Benimantell.
One of the peculiarities of this edition is that the organization wanted to pay tribute to the towns affected by the DANA, maintaining the route through municipalities such as Algemesí, Alfafar and other nearby towns. In addition, the jerseys of the race leaders have the names of the affected municipalities printed on them, sending a message of solidarity and support to those who suffered the devastating floods.
The competition continues until next Sunday, February 9, with a total of five stages.
