25 years after the privatization of the Vehicle Technical Inspection service required for circulation, the Generalitat Valenciana begins the first phase of reversion to return the management of the service to the public administration.
Starting next Monday, February 27, the Ondara, Alcoi, Benidorm, Gandia, Ontinyent, Torrevieja, Utiel, Villena, Vinaròs and Xàtiva stations will be operational and will provide the service for the first time under direct management. For this, they will remain closed on Saturday to carry out the transfer protocol.
Tomorrow, therefore, Ivace staff with the corresponding accreditation will appear at these ITV stations, representing the Generalitat. And, on the part of the concessionary company, duly accredited personnel must appear as legal representative to be able to proceed with the delivery of the installation and sign the technical inspection record prior to provisional acceptance.
The same procedure will be carried out later in the stations of Alacant, Alzira, Castelló, Catarroja, Elx, Llíria, Massalfassar, Riba-roja de Túria, Sagunt-Port de Sagunt, San Antonio de Benagéber, València-Campanar, València- Vara de Quart and Vila-real, when indirect management ends on March 3.
Improvements in the Valencian ITV service
One of the objectives proposed by the Govern del Botánic with the return to public management is reduce rates by 20%, largely thanks to the elimination of the noise test that is carried out only in the Valencian territory. Another of the great purposes will be modernize the ITV stations and the installation of photovoltaic panels that address climate change.
These are not only the Government's proposals, but also the construction of new ITV stations to bring the service as close as possible to citizens and that they do not have to travel more than 30 km from their municipality of residence to be able to pass the technical inspection of their vehicles.
