The Minister of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Rebeca Torró, has announced that the province of Alicante will receive more than 100 million euros from the MRR and React programs, from European funds, which will mean a "very important investment of resources "both in infrastructure and public works actions and in Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGV).

In this sense, he stressed that part of this investment that comes from European funds is already being carried out and gave as an example the works on the Quisi viaduct, framed in the renovation of Line 9 of the TRAM d'Alacant, which represent an investment of more than nine million euros.

At the end of the working meeting with representatives of the Federation of Public Works of the Province of Alicante (FOPA), the councilor thanked the federation for the meeting, in which "very important issues for the province of Alicante, related to with the investments and with the impact that the European funds will have in Alicante and its province”, he pointed out.

Thus, the councilor has affirmed that, together with the European funds, the Generalitat is going to reinforce investments in the province of Alicante during the next few years, thanks to the 300 million of the extra fund that the Government has allocated for the Valencian Community. “We are going to be able to invest more than 200 million in infrastructures and key actions for Alicante”, she highlighted.

Likewise, according to the Minister, "of these 300 million, 40 will be allocated to innovative mobility projects, such as the purchase of tram units for the TRAM d'Alacant network".

In this sense, the councilor has reiterated the commitment of the Generalitat and the Government of Spain "to improve the necessary financing for the province of Alicante", and has referred to the fact that the Valencian Community will receive from the General State Budget a amount "not only according to its population weight, but considerably better compared to previous years."

Likewise, as Torró explained, "the Community is going to be assigned almost 1.300 million euros, this is 70% more than the latest General State Budgets of the Popular Party and Minister Cristóbal Montoro".

Despite this important increase, the Minister has stated that "from the Generalitat, we are aware that the territorial distribution is not well defined, for this reason, Minister Bolaños himself announced a few days ago that the General Budgets will be modified via amendments and via error correction to improve the allocation to the province of Alicante”.

Regarding the Budgets of the Generalitat, the head of Public Works has indicated that from the Consell "we are going to guarantee that the investments are balanced territorially, providing more resources to the province, through our own Budgets, as well as thanks to the extra fund of 300 million euros that we received from the State and whose agreement will be signed before the end of the year”.

The meeting with representatives of FOPA was also attended by the regional secretary for Public Works, Transport and Sustainable Mobility, María Pérez, the director of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat (FGV), Anaïs Menguzzato, and the undersecretary of the Ministry, Rafael Briet.
