The promoter of Patmore Resort in Benissa goes ahead and requests the building license

November 29 from 2022 - 10: 33

The company Benissa Natura, promoter of the Patmore Resort project, has filed the request for a Major Work license for the construction of a hotel and several single-family homes on the consolidated urban land owned by the Benissa City Council between La Cala Els Pinets and La Llobella. At the same time, the company maintains the Urban Development Agreement proposal offered to the Benissa City Council with which it intends to transfer almost 16.000 square meters of green area on the coastline to the municipality, although its withdrawal is being considered if the agreements between the two do not materialize. parts.

Benissa Natura intends to develop a project with a low architectural profile of a hotel character and single-family homes, all integrated into the landscape by one of the most internationally recognized architects in the design of integration of his architecture in the natural and landscape environment, Rafael de La- Sickle. The future resort will have two differentiated spaces, one with international gastronomy and the other with a wellness center with a specialized beauty center, which as a whole will create more than 100 direct jobs and another 300 indirect ones, with an annual return investment in the municipality of Benissa of 12 million euros in consumables, supplies and services to serve the complex; plus a contribution to the Benissa City Council of 1,5 million euros for municipal taxes per year.

An Agreement of public interest

The developer company continues to trust in the acceptance of the Urban Development Agreement offered to the municipality of Benissa, which has as its object the free transfer of two green areas of 15.871 square meters, currently private property, which would allow the execution of the section of the pending Ecological Path of the Coast of execution. A culmination of a project that could become a transcendental infrastructure for the municipality and for the protection of the coastline of Benissa.

However, the company's management does not rule out withdrawing the proposal in the face of a possible municipal decision to suspend the licenses on a preventive basis in Colina l'Asprar, between Avenida de la Marina and the sea line; and between Cala El Pinets and Cala Advocat, although it maintains its predisposition to reach agreements with the City Council for the benefit of Benissa.

From the promoter it is considered that "we would make this difficult decision if they persist in attempts to frustrate a project that is respectful of the landscape and the environment, which has the capacity to generate employment and wealth for Benissa. A project that is accompanied by a proposal that is included in an Urban Agreement with which we transfer 16.000 square meters of green area to the town of Benissa for the protection of the coastal façade and to articulate a large green corridor along its coast” .
