The insecurity situation in Xaló and the interior of the Marina Alta is generally unsustainable for the government team of the Xaloner town council. For this reason, the councilors will demonstrate on December 10 before the Government subdelegation in Alicante to demand that more members of the State security forces be assigned to the Valley of Pop and to the rest of the valleys. A call in which they encourage the neighborhood to participate and show more strength.
The reduction in State security forces in the interior towns in the last 10 years is very alarming. Currently, the Xaló Civil Guard barracks have a symbolic activity (basically administrative and not daily) and the one in Benissa provides less and less service. In the event of a night notice to the Civil Guard from the Vall de Pop, the agents must travel from the Moraira or Calp barracks, far from Xaló and other towns and markedly insufficient. For this reason, the city council and the neighborhood will demand in the concentration that the Xaló barracks have a guard patrol at night.
The need for a greater presence of the state security forces has been reiterated on many occasions in the Government sub-delegation, understanding that these bodies are the ones that have the preparation and means to intercept those responsible. It is true that the coordination and presence of the Civil Guard has increased in recent days due to the alarming increase in house robberies in Xaló. In any case, it is insufficient.

During the last month there has been a very significant increase in robberies or attempted robberies that has especially affected the scattered houses of Xaló. Previously, the municipality had already been the victim of waves of crime on private property in the town. Given this fact, the Xaló government team expresses its full understanding of the justified social alarm created in the town and announces the actions that have already been carried out and those that will be implemented in the coming days. On the one hand, the guards and guards of the local police in Xaló have increased, especially on weekends. The current staff of 5 police officers carry out the maximum hours currently allowed. On the other hand, an intensive surveillance and tracking protocol has been established on the roads of Xaló. The modus operandi of those responsible for the robberies makes tracking tasks difficult since they are very short actions in time with reduced thefts that allow escape on foot. There is already a first profile of those responsible. In addition, a private surveillance service has been hired, which has the function of adding more detection personnel. Lastly, the council is studying a plan for the location of strategic security cameras that will be operational as soon as possible given the complexity of permits and study of locations.
These measures, if they must be extended over time, imply multiplying the city council's spending on a matter that is essentially the responsibility of other administrations. The consistory cannot assume by system what other administrations cut.
