It is in 2020 when Pangea arrives at MASSMA, but unfortunately, and as a result of the health crisis, it was not until 2021 when the Office started operating. This 2022, the figures do not lie. The Pangea Office of the Commonwealth of Social Services of the Marina Alta has become the benchmark in immigration matters among the inhabitants that compose it.
The office located in the Social Center of the municipality of Pedreguer, attends to all migrants who reside in one of the 22 municipalities that make up the MASSMA, as well as collaborates and supports entities that need information and advice on immigration matters.
Within its powers, Pangea has carried out various actions during 2022 both at the individual and community level.
At the individual level and where there is a greater demand is in the information and reception service where 344 people were assisted in person. The next one with the most demand is that of legal guarantees, which contemplates the preparation of the necessary reports for the regularization processes of the applicants. In 2022 alone, a total of 177 arraigo reports have been made, 87 more than in 2021, and 41 housing reports, 6 more than in 2021.
Regarding the community level, it should be mentioned that in 2022 the Office has carried out its first activity in terms of awareness and social cohesion. Through the Va de Cuentos association, an Itinerant Story Laboratory was organized on the occasion of Cultural Diversity Day.
The Laboratory toured the municipalities of Orba, Beniarbeig, Xaló and Gata de Gorgos involving the youngest and also the elderly in the richness of interculturality.
In addition, together with the equality area of the MASSMA, two basic computer courses for women have been carried out again in the municipalities of Pedreguer and Orba. The first edition took place in 2021 in the municipality of Ondara.
